Red Hats, White Lies šØ
(From my album Theydies and Gentlethems)
Yāall knew this album would stir the pot ā well, hereās the boiling point.
"Red Hats, White Lies" is a song for every one of us whoās tired of watching hypocrites weaponize faith while hiding skeletons in their Sunday closets. Itās a song about selective outrage ā about folks screaming āsave the childrenā while turning a blind eye to abuse in their own pews. About banning books while blessing predators. About preaching purity while protecting power.
Drag queens reading stories? THATāS their villain.
But clergy covering up abuse? Oh ā "thoughts and prayers."
This song is not subtle. Itās not gentle. It wasnāt meant to be.
Because truth rarely is.
"Red Hats, White Lies" calls it like it is: ā The real wolves ain't in drag.
ā The real threats don't sparkle in pride parades.
ā The real sinners ain't the q***r kids trying to survive.
They're hiding behind pulpits, podiums, and patriotism.
And if that makes somebody uncomfortable? Good.
Maybe they should sit with that feeling. Maybe it should hurt.
Music is rebellion. Music tells the stories polite society tries to bury. And this story needed to be told.
If youāve ever felt the sting of someone twisting scripture against you...
If youāve ever watched power hide behind religion...
If youāve ever been told you were the danger, just for existing...
This oneās for you.
Turn it up. Share it loud. This is protest music. This is pride music. This is truth in 4 minutes flat.
We see the stains.
We hear the cries.
And the truth donāt kneel.
