Dear God, thank You for this day and for being a God who doesn’t define me by my worst moments. Your word in 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” God, I’m holding onto that promise today. I’ve made mistakes and there are seasons I wish I could rewrite, but I’m grateful that my past doesn’t have to determine my future. You make all things new, and You know exactly how to take the broken parts of my story and build something beautiful from them. Help me stop living in shame and start living like someone whose slate has been wiped clean. You’re not finished with me yet, and I’m not giving up. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be theirs. -Isaiah 61:7
