Power outage in Clifton, Meridian, and Morgan. According to radio traffic per Clifton’s Chief of Police, outage is due to a transformer blown on K Street in Meridian.

Update: a portion of Clifton’s power is back on, and Texas New Mexico Power is working diligently in Meridian to restore power.

We are accepting Vendor applications for the 2023 National Championship Barbecue Cookoff to be held on October 28, 2023 at Bosque Bottoms in Meridian, Texas. All vendors are welcome. During tonight’s special called meeting, City of Meridian, Texas City Council accepted City Administrator Marie Garland’s resignation.

After an hour long executive session for discussion, Meridian City Council appointed City Secretary Tiffany Gentry as interim City Administrator.

Thank you Marie Garland for all your hard work and dedication to the citizens and employees of Meridian. You will be missed!

The City of Meridian hired Officer Cody Woosley as their new Chief of Police, and bid farewell to Public Works Director Mike Walker after announcing his retirement after 30+ years of service to the city during a city council meeting held on June 12th. Full story to follow.

Congratulations to Chief Woosley, and a big thank you Mike Walker for your service to the city.
