BREAKING: Trump Nominates Todd Blanche for Attorney General

President Donald Trump has formally nominated Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to permanently lead the U.S. Department of Justice.

Blanche previously served as Trump’s personal defense attorney and has been acting attorney general since April. His nomination now requires Senate confirmation, where Republicans hold a narrow 53–47 majority.

Republican supporters say Blanche is experienced, committed to law enforcement, and qualified to lead the Justice Department. Democrats argue that his close ties to Trump raise serious concerns about whether he can protect the department’s independence.

The confirmation fight is expected to focus on one major question:

Can a former personal lawyer for the president serve as an independent attorney general?

POLITICAL ASSASSINATION—OR A CASE THAT COULD TEST AMERICA’S FAITH IN JUSTICE?

Tyler Robinson is accused of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk during a public event at Utah Valley University.

Prosecutors say forensic evidence links Robinson to the weapon and are seeking the death penalty. His defense argues that intense media coverage could make a fair trial more difficult.

Should a case involving political violence be fully broadcast in the name of transparency—or could nonstop publicity destroy the presumption of innocence?

Robinson has not been convicted. The evidence must be tested in court.

What matters more here: public transparency or the right to an impartial trial?

Inflation has changed the way many Americans think about retirement.

For some, the dream is no longer a bigger house.
It’s lower bills, less debt, and more peace.

Would you choose a smaller home if it made retirement easier?

In Germany, some cities are testing solar-powered sleeping capsules to protect unhoused people during freezing winter nights.

They are not meant to replace real housing.

But on a cold night, a heated, lockable shelter can mean safety, dignity, and survival.

A small capsule may not solve homelessness completely, but it shows one important idea:

People without homes still deserve warmth.
They still deserve protection.
They still deserve to be treated like human beings.

Sometimes innovation is not about building something huge.

Sometimes it starts with a simple question:

“How do we keep someone alive tonight?”

Would you support sleeping capsules like this in your city?

Seattle didn’t just move people out of tent encampments.

It offered them something many had lost for a long time: dignity, privacy, and a door they could lock.

The city’s Tiny House Villages give unhoused residents small private 8×12 ft homes — simple spaces, but powerful ones. Each unit offers safety, personal control, and the feeling of finally having a place that belongs to you.

These villages are more than rows of tiny houses. They include shared kitchens, bathrooms, laundry areas, and community spaces where people can connect instead of being left alone. Residents hold their own keys, help care for the village, and take part in community life.

They also receive support on site — from job placement and mental health resources to help finding permanent housing.

What makes this model stand out is not just the lower cost compared to traditional shelters. It’s the philosophy behind it.

Homelessness is not only about lacking a roof.

It is also about losing stability, safety, privacy, and hope.

Sometimes, rebuilding a life starts with something very simple:

A small home.
A locked door.
A safe place to breathe.
And a community that says, “You still matter.”

Would you support tiny house villages like this in your city?
