Last weekend we stayed at a Disney Springs hotel the night before a cruise. We made reservations at Chef Mickey’s for dinner. Adults can absolutely enjoy a character meal without kids! The 4 of us had a great time. If you miss a character due to being away from the table getting food, let a Cast Member know. I missed Minnie but she happily came over before we left so I could get a photo. If you aren’t able to snag a reservation, keep checking. I was able to get a 6:30 on a Saturday evening about a week before! Persistence pays off.

Money saving tip - order the kids meal! All the quick service restaurants on Disney property allow for anyone to order from the kids menu. The portion size is usually plenty and it comes with a side and a drink. (The side items are slightly different now than what is pictured and may change again but definitely a great way to save money!)

Popcorn buckets can be a great value during your Disney vacation! The cheapest buckets are currently $13 with refills for your length of stay costing $2.25. They also have specialty buckets that cost a bit more, typically ranging from $18-$30. Keep them filled for a quick snack while waiting in line or grab a refill before leaving to have with you for your evening at the hotel. Great to take to the free outdoor movies that Disney resorts show each night!

Watching Happily Ever After from inside The Magic Kingdom is definitely the absolute best. However, if you are not in the park, one of my favorite ways to watch is from the beach at The Polynesian. You do not have to be a resort guest to enjoy this little perk. Simply take Disney transportation to the hotel and walk out back to the beach. I recommend stopping by Pineapple Lanai and grabbing a delicious Dole Whip along the way. Get there early to find a chair and indulge in your treat while waiting for the fireworks. The music from the park is piped in and while you can’t see the castle projections, it is still an awesome experience!

You guys!!! I was babysitting this evening and they showed me their new Legos they assembled. It’s the cutest!!! Here’s a money saving tip for ya…buy Disney merch before you leave your home. Each night at your hotel, surprise your kiddos with a visit from Tinkerbell by leaving a gift on the bed or dresser. Resort hopping. It will be mentioned often. Not only is it free but having downtime is essential on a Disney vacation! Hop on the skyliner, monorail, busses or boats and check out the resorts! Something we have found that we enjoy are the different lawn games. Free and fun!

If you have littles (or adults) that love Lilo and Stitch, head over to ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The characters can only be found during morning hours at the Best Friends Breakfast. Food is all-you-care-to-enjoy and is served family style. A super fun experience and the pineapple-coconut bread is amazing! Be sure to grab your reservations early as this is a popular breakfast option!
