⚠️Ongoing Hazmat Situation Reported on Neal Oilfield Road Near Arco Road in Merryville⚠️

A hazardous materials situation is currently unfolding on Neal Oilfield Road near Arco Road outside of Merryville, according to multiple local reports and witnesses.
Residents and drivers in the area reported a strong odor coming from the scene, with one witness stating a substance appeared to be “gushing up and coming onto the road.” Heavy equipment and crews were observed on site working around what appears to be oilfield or pipeline infrastructure.
Comments from local community members indicate traffic has still been allowed through at times, though closures may happen as cleanup operations continue. One local source stated the roadway could be shut down “within the next hour or so for cleanup.”
Photos from the scene show excavation equipment actively digging near piping infrastructure while workers investigate or attempt repairs.

Beginning March 18 - March 29, there will be
increased military traffic on Highway 171 between Fort Johnson and DeRidder, along with Highway 27 through Dequincy and Highway 12 into Texas.

Stay alert and mindful of the vehicles. Please do not follow closely. Remember if you cannot see the driver in their mirrors, they cannot see you.
