One of the simplest ways to support neurodivergent children is to make the invisible visible.

Tara Williams, our podcast guest this week, shares why visuals can be so powerful. Many neurodivergent learners process information in a very concrete way, which means abstract concepts, figures of speech, and verbal explanations alone can sometimes miss the mark.

Instead of just telling, show.

Use pictures. Demonstrate the concept. Hold up the object. Draw it out. Act it out. Pair your words with something they can see and connect to.

Sometimes the bridge to better communication isn't saying more. It's making it visual. ๐Ÿ’™โœจ

Did you know that sometimes the key to getting things done is simply not doing them alone?

On today's episode of Polaris Connection, Tara Williams shares the incredible concept of body doubling and why having someone alongside you can make all the difference, especially for neurodivergent individuals. Whether it's folding laundry, tackling a to-do list, or even heading to the library, connection can be the catalyst that turns overwhelm into accomplishment.

If you've ever wondered why some tasks feel impossible until someone is there with you, this conversation is for you.

Some people inspire you because of what they've accomplished.

Others inspire you because of what they've endured.

In our newest episode of Polaris Connection, we sit down with Amber Jackson of Enjoying Holland, a mother of four whose life has been marked by unexpected challenges, profound loss, and extraordinary resilience.

Amber shares her journey of raising children with unique needs, navigating divorce, becoming a widow after losing her husband to a brain tumor, and learning how to find beauty, purpose, and joy in a life that didn't unfold as planned.

This conversation isn't about pretending life is easy. It's about meeting hardship with grace, choosing gratitude when it would be easier to focus on what's missing, and discovering that some of life's greatest blessings can be found in the places we never expected to go.

Whether you're parenting a neurodivergent child, walking through a difficult season, or simply need a reminder that hope still exists, this episode is one you won't want to miss.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Listen now and be inspired by Amber's powerful perspective on resilience, love, and finding joy in the unexpected.

Have you ever heard the word interoception and wondered what it actually means? ๐Ÿค”

Interoception is our ability to notice and understand what's happening inside our bodies. It's recognizing things like hunger, thirst, needing the bathroom, feeling tired, feeling anxious, or noticing when our emotions are starting to build.

In this clip from The Polaris Connection podcast, occupational therapist Laura Petix, also known as The OT Butterfly, breaks down this important concept in a way that's easy to understand.

When we better understand interoception, we can better understand ourselves and the children we support. ๐Ÿ’™

What if some of the behaviors we see are actually a child's way of communicating what they're feeling inside but don't yet have the words to express?

Parents, what if your child's education was not limited by tradition? ๐Ÿš€ Imagine creating a school tailored exactly to their needs.
Drop a ๐Ÿ”ฅ if you've ever wished for more control over your child's learning journey!

For kids with neurodiversity or autism, standard education systems often fall short. Thatโ€™s why educational freedom isnโ€™t just a buzzword, itโ€™s a game changer. Polaris did what public schools canโ€™t: blend therapies and academics in a way that truly fits each child.

Itโ€™s about giving parents the power to create real opportunities, not just options. The system isnโ€™t designed for every need, but we can build solutions. ๐Ÿ’ก

Worth thinking about.
