1. Intellectual Property is the protection of intangible ideas that have monetary value.

2. When working with a service provider (editers, graphic designers, etc.), include a Work for
Hire clause in your agreement.

3. File for copyright to protect the contents of your book

4. Partnering with an Intellectual Property lawyer is an investment, not an expense!

Sometimes when I am writing it's hard to get into the groove. Not necessarily because of writer's block but because of my writer’s space.

If it was too noisy I was distracted, if the chairs were too hard I couldn’t get comfortable, if it smelled like food I would get hungry😂

I realized that to flow in my writing I had to create a writing space that appealed to all 5 senses.

Sight: Find the perfect lighting that's calming for your eyes

Smell: Use scents to help you focus

Taste: Food is stimulating, snack on anything that’s rhythmic

Touch: Wear clothes that are comfortable but won’t cause you to snooze

Sound: Choose tunes to help you concentrate or connect you to your muse

My recommendations:

Sight: I write by a window for natural light from the sun during the day and the moon late at night with a mood lamp

Smell: I use orange blossom aroma therapy to help me focus

Taste: Tazo Zen Green tea

Sound: John Coltrane jazz playlist, coffee table music playlist or YouTube, or any instrumental songs

One of the most profound things my mother has ever told me was

“You gotta give God something to bless.”

At the time we were both starting our entrepreneurial journey and to put it straight, it was kicking my butt. I was discouraged, exhausted, and overwhelmed.
