You don’t have to believe someone is innocent to appreciate watching due process at work. ⚖️

I’ve been watching the Lindsay Clancy trial, and personally, I believe she’s guilty.

But I’m also fascinated watching her defense attorney do exactly what our legal system requires him to do: DEFEND his client.

I can disagree with his argument. I can think parts of his closing are overdone or scattered. I can believe the jury may ultimately reject his defense—and STILL appreciate watching an experienced attorney fight with everything he has for the person sitting beside him.

That isn’t defending Lindsay Clancy.

That’s appreciating the fact that in this country, even when the allegations are horrific and public opinion has already reached its verdict, the accused still gets a defense and the prosecution still has to prove its case.

And THAT is what fascinates me about watching trials.

You can believe someone is guilty and still respect the process. Both things can be true. ⚖️

One sip of water and she’ll be acting like none of this ever happened. 😂🌿
