Our hearts are heavy… today, at 9:45 PM, the medium, Spiritist speaker, and ambassador of peace in the world, Divaldo Pereira Franco, returned to the Spirit World at the age of 98. Divaldo dedicated his life to the Spiritist Cause and to love for others, in Salvador and across the globe.
The wake will be held at the Mansão do Caminho Gymnasium, from 9 AM to 8 PM on Wednesday, May 14. The burial will take place on the following Thursday at 10 AM, at Bosque da Paz Cemetery.
Born on May 5, 1927, in Feira de Santana, Bahia, Divaldo was responsible for over 20,000 lectures, given in more than 2,500 cities and 71 countries around the world. With over 260 published works and more than 10 million copies sold, he left a Spiritist literary legacy encompassing more than 200 spiritual authors across various themes and literary genres. His works, translated into 17 languages, continue to illuminate the paths of millions with comfort, hope, and spirituality. A multifaceted missionary medium, Divaldo became one of the greatest Spiritist mediums and speakers of our time.
Alongside Nilson de Souza Pereira (who passed away in 2013), he founded the Caminho da Redenção Spiritist Center (1947) and the Mansão do Caminho (1952), which today form an admirable educational and social assistance complex, with 44 buildings spread across streets, woods, and a lake, where more than 5,000 people—children, youth, adults, and the elderly—are assisted daily with material, educational, and spiritual needs. Uncle Divaldo, as he is affectionately known, was also a tireless father and educator, having adopted more than 650 children, who were raised in the former foster homes of the Mansão do Caminho. For all of this, he received more than 800 honors from cultural, social, religious, political, and governmental institutions for his unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes.
Certainly, the Greater Spirit Realm rejoices at the return of a noble brother who successfully fulfilled his mission and who now strengthens the spiritual benefactors’ collective that welcomes and aids the world.
See you soon, Star Sower!
