**THE USURPATION**

The Usurpation Forces, not to be confused with O's Usurper Units, are an alien race that O has struggled with for some time.

With similar cutting edge technology, the Usurpation Forces are not to be trifled with Additionally, they are a superior lifeform compared to most humanoids.

Gifted with naturally regenerative abilities and keratin armor, these alien invaders pack a punch even without the help of technology.

In addition, their spawn can vary, some are brutish and large while others are more lightweight, utilizing agility to their advantage, making it easier to distinguish scout from soldier from brute.

While they are technologically advanced, they seem to have a more tribal character, roaring chants and growls, marching to wars, even carrying shields and spears.

One commonly known chant is discovered to be a saying along the lines of "Pledge our lives to war" when translated, suggesting that some may have been bred specifically to kill and be killed.

The Usurpation Majors, specifically, may produce adrenaline that nullifies pain.

When that adrenaline wears down it'll probably feel like getting pummeled by 5 sledgehammers but during a fight they won't go down if their body won't allow it.

Additionally, they usually have built-in wristblades that extend up to 3-4ft long, which are essentially lasers and cut through most things like butter.

Friendly fire is absolutely not tolerated, punishment is on-field ex*****on.

**NEW EARTH**

"New Earth" Librus, a more advanced and "civilized" variant of Serra, are extremely racist.
Well, not to humans.
They hold a firm belief non-humans are inherently inferior, and treat them as such.
"Abnormalities", they're called, are usually given horrible treatment once "accepted" into Librun society (usually as prisoners or workers, rarely low ranking soldiers, never citizens). Only 2 revolt attempts ever happened, and they were swiftly suppressed. Those deemed too powerful are executed without thought.

Anthropomorphic animals, or basically furries to us, are usually sent in mines to work themselves to physical failure and even death. They also substitute for humans in su***de missions to gather information.

Cyborgs or sentient machines are also primarily used as the brunt of the work force, but usually in more hazardous environments like space. You'd think the infinite-resource Librun government could provide adequate energy for these machines to function, but they're always given the bare minimum to ensure their processes are only capable of their work and nothing more. In fact, self-sustaining robots have their physical power forcefully limited through modifications.

Mystics, or humanoids like elves, fairies, elementals and such, aren't as horribly mistreated, some even becoming well-respected members in society. However, most end up never succeeding to the average human. It takes a high work effort to be recognized, and most never provide that.

Those in possession of magic have their energy stripped of them, basically leaving them as whatever they were previously. Previous mentioned species decide fate.

This isn't to say humans from other conflicts are treated kindly. If they're non-Librun or Serran, they're horribly treated and usually kept in prisons.

Blitzers, or arc wielders are those who possess the proficiency of lightning magic. They're mostly viewed as a sadistic and cruel group of people, though. It's not because of the ability itself, but because of how it was tuned.
Most arc wielders would focus their shocks to control the human body and mind, breaking and permanently scarring the mind to interrogate their enemies. This led to a widespread outcry in some countries to abolish the cast, and some feigned agreement, only to use it behind their people's back.

Not even shadow magic, flame magic, or blood magic was as despised as blitz magic. And unlike the culture of fire, which tamed itself to cultivate life and burn away darkness, lightning would never seek redemption and only seemed to double down on its brutality as time went on. Even in the modern era, electric magic is still associated with torture, mental breaks, and interrogation.

The Dol'Fulgr scouts are among the most hated yet feared. It only takes one of these scouts' pheromones to alert a colony of thousands. Each of these scouts have special glands and antennae that help to find prey. In addition, unless one completely erases their presence, there is no hiding from the winged invertebrates.

They boast a deadly, constrictive acid that quickly hardens, rendering it difficult for their prey to move while their flesh is broken down. These Scouts are notorious for their intelligence, often purposefully expending most of their acid in limbs or a specific point of armor to weaken and delay the target's movement. When they are not hunting, they tend to the brood, as to ensure that each of their siblings are well-fed and clean. While intelligent, however, the Scouts are simple-minded with only one clear purpose. Protect the queen.

It's easy to access their mind, but difficult to change their motive. Their entire goal, the purpose of their existence is to serve the colony and protect the queen. To change this motive is to change one's entire life, additionally their pheromones help to strengthen that resolve. Thus, mind magic is ineffective when dealing with most of the Dol'Fulgr workers

The Dol'Fulgr, in addition to their nigh-impenetrable carapace coupled with magic and mutations, have learned long ago that it simply wasn't enough. Due to this revelation, they created additional armor with the use of smithing and forgery. Additionally, the armor was often enchanted with defenses to cover up what their carapace lacked in terms of resistence

All the more reason to avoid castes, much more, swarms of Dol'Fulgr troops. The resources and mana wasted to pe*****te the armor and then try a different array of spells to counteract the carapace's strengths was all too demanding and not worth the effort

The parts of Dol'Fulgr aren't even worth the effort as the mutations are automatically erased, devolving to the standard carapace and organ which are far less remarkable in terms of utility

In summary, the Dol'Fulgr colonies are more trouble than they're worth
However, if left alone, their endless tides will undoubtedly rise to uncontrollable numbers, forcing factions to waste a significant amount of resources to control or eradicate their growth

Recently, Ria has gone through some things, as mentioned in her diary
'It's been months since the incident. Everything felt like a blur. I thought that with time, I would have gotten used to it. The stench of blood. The horrible itching. The headaches. The shaking. The constant voice inside my head that keeps on asking me the same s**t. "Why?" Why did it have to be me? What did I do to deserve this?

As time passed, I started to remember. In my dreams, I saw a house near a shop. A small house, but it was home nonetheless, so I went in. I wish I hadn't. It felt as if my entire life flashed before my eyes. I wasn't dying or anything, but my body kept shaking. As I stared into the pictures hung up on the walls, I remembered them. I hated it. I regret going there. I killed them, didn't I? Then, I ate them. Just like the rest.

I felt nothing and everything at the same time. I could not see well, it felt like I was being strangled. When my headache started to fade, I woke up on the floor. It was wet, seriously wet. I thought I ate someone again but I quickly realized that a pool of my own vomit had formed around my head and all over my clothes. It was disgusting and putrid. My entire body still felt weak and my eyes were sore, I knew that there were new, dried tears just from the feeling. I had gotten used to crying in this new form, after all I'm a monster that ate her family.

I checked the mirror and I grimaced at the sight. It seems I got out of control. Three of my fingers were missing, there were scratches all over my body, and marks around my neck. The ugliest part is that I clawed my own stomach open. If it were me before this hell, I probably would've thrown up all the contents in my body, but now it feels normal. I can't feel any pain anymore, only a strange numbing sensation. I have many things to do, bu... A... There wa...... T.. je...."

The page had been stained with blood near the bottom, covering the last few words.

It is speculated that near the end of the entry, Ria had been attacked.
Next to the notebook were 3 dead bodies, possibly people that belonged to a troublesome group.

Surprisingly, they had gunshot wounds rather than the usual claw marks and gouges, suggesting that Ria had killed them on her own accord.

Geography and social information

Serra's earth is slightly smaller than our earth. It has slightly quicker day-night cycles, and only 3 main continents (with several island nations). The continents include Keiros (Rius, Olaris, and Auros), Desitarrius (Kassix, Draconis, Altan, Saterrus, Demerrus, Asturias. Novus, Aravis and Varis identify themselves with Desitarrius, despite not being physically associated.), and Azuri (Aquina, Persea, Valiona, Laiora, and Tavao). Because of the distance and proportion Azuri and Desitarrius hold, most wars are landlocked on those continents. Keiros is also massive, but doesn't often see fighting because of its extreme isolation. The climate on Keiros is notoriously cold during the winter and fall season, with rainy and mild summers/springs. Desitarrius has mild overall weather, with some areas known as "scorchers" (including Asturis and Kassix) that have intense summers. Azuri has much more chaotic weather conditions, with frequent light floods and vulnerabilities to tsunamis.

Most cultures, aside from Draconis and Altan, rely strongly on agriculture, and meat is considered a delicacy or food for the wealthy. Aside from Varis, Aravis, and Novus, most nations lack dependance on each other for trade.

In the 400's, the Empire of Persea had conquered the entirety of Azuri and most of Desitarrius. Because of this, the languages of Novii and Persii would mix, creating the varied modern languages of Serra. Eventually in 1100, the independence of Desitarrius came to fruition, with the emergence of new nations like Aquina, Valiona, Demerrus, and Varis. Meanwhile, the first tribes of Keiros would begin to develop (DISCLAIMER - Tribes weren't underdeveloped, just divided) more uniformed societies amongst themselves. Olaris, Senovekh, Lanaria, Katonis, and Auros were the countries that formed out of the great Keiros unification. They lived in relative peace until 1864. The Auros military would launch a surprise invasion on the south, swiftly annexing the neighboring countries by brute force. After a particular struggle with the Olarian Empire, the war ended with Auros in control of Keiros. The south was allowed minor cultural individuality as the states of Rius, but were mostly under Auri control.

Religion isn't a widespread concept of Serra, rather it's science and societal constructs that have greater followings. The pursuit of knowledge especially enticed the nations of Demerrus and Saterrus, which was a strong factor in their iconic alliance.

The doctrine of war was ruled by a somewhat barbaric ideology of honor and imperialism. Most countries weren't allies because of being plagued by extreme xenophobia and nationalism. Because of this, examples like the Novan-Kassin wars characterize the lack of support most nations had when taking on what should've been a united effort.

Racism isn't a thing in Serra. Slavery happened, but it was mostly for prisoners of war who'd eventually be freed by the ends of those conflicts.

**The Mutilator Program**

Citizens of Sytar - Acknowledge your standing. Violations of local code will label you eligible for the Mutilator program - May your hearts align with Auros.

After Auros had relinquished its loyalty to the Owl's Will, their God that promised Serran peace at home in exchange for an inter-universal army. Auros would supply the main population, with other countries like Novus, Asturis, and Persea willingly assisting in technological advancements.
Their conquests originally began at what was considered a "Dispute of godhood", between the Owl and the Saber. After the Bicentennial War, Serra would emerge victorious over the Rezhnan society and assimilate their technology. One of these projects was the Stabilizer program, one that most Serran researchers would think little of.

Fast forward into the Karraun wars, where after a brutal 40 years, the planet was subjugated under Auros rule. The fighting would not end militarily, however: countless civilian Karraunis would resort to rebellion rather than accepting life under foreign occupation. The government and military, by now practically in tune with the Owl's mind, would refuse to allow even a single chance of dominion in their reign. A complete destruction of the universe would prove they were dealing with a threat too defiant to suppress - they sought to punish the rebellion into submission. The Stabilizer program would resurface into the Mutilator Program. Eventually, a good portion of the rebellion was taken alive with difficulty. There, they'd begin and perfect their research after countless failures. What would result were officially called "Adjudicators" by the Serran government, but were nicknamed "Wendigos", "Puppets", and "Mutilators" by all future encounters. Regardless of species or stature, those eligible for the mutilator program would undergo forced, agonizing surgery to grant them a perfect Serran humanoid body to accept the vessel for "The Mediation". Following that would be physical brain surgery, alongside yearly brain conditioning to produce the perfect loyal husk of a being - The Mutilator program concludes there.

Under the threat of such a divine hell, there would never be a prolonged rebellion against Auros conquest again.

**King Louise Rosano**

King Rosano was coronated for the throne at the age of 15, mostly because of internal corruption and political manipulation seeking to benefit from a young King. They were met with nothing but disappointment however, as they soon realized not only was the King above corruption: he was also strongly educated and began pursuing justice. His first act on the throne would be weeding out and prosecuting those he deemed in contempt of Asturis. Any who propagated bribes and self interest were declared by Rosano himself as direct enemies of the nation.

Secondly, he began to open up discussions with several known liberal parties, severely angering the influential conservatives but winning over the majority population by at least taking the initiative to listen. He created stronger income-based taxes centered around providing fairer grounds for lower classes to move up and for higher classes to contribute. This wasn't to say his reforms were 100% well received. Some began paying assassins to murder the king, as he lacked a heir and his death would open a power vacuum fit for taking advantage of. However, one account of the king taking a ceremonial spear off a wall and gutting an assassin himself would seem to deter more tries at his life.

By age 24, he voluntarily gave up power to the Democratic Representative Party of Asturis. He had one of the shortest, but most fondly looked upon reigns in Asturian history.

***Naval Dominance***

In the 1850's-1930's, naval combat was mostly characterized by supportive positioning. A majority of battleships saw use as carriers, forming blockades, or providing naval support for infantry. In between Keiros and Desitarrius lays the Voraos sea, known for its deceptively calm waters which seem to rage in unpredictable manners. Because of this, ship-ship combat scenarios almost never happened. One prime example of one happened to be between Auros and Olaris, however. During the battle of Battery Celia, Auros Federal Ship "Veter" would make its way through the Turau strait to provide support from the sea with its arrangements of mounted cannons. Coincidentally, the OES "Warka" also shared the same plan. The battle soon commenced, where both attempted to flank each other to avoid the others sight-lines while getting them into theirs. Eventually, marines were dispatched on small rafts from the OES to disturb the severely undermanned AFS. To everyone's shock, the sailors managed to deter the marines by using boiling water and heavy weighted ammunition to attack boarders. When they lost the option for those, they began throwing ceremonial swords, tables, and even pens. Somehow, this sufficed at keeping the Olarian soldiers at bay, and actually won the AFS a decisive victory after performing a successful flank on the OES.
