I have a book coming out in January 2021 Discover Your Power Animal, and I really wanted to discover ways to connect with my reader. Afterall, I wrote the book with them in mind. Hey Carlos, I'm a quarter of the way through your book and you asked us (the readers) to come and give some feedback. I guess my feedback would consist of thanking you for being so real and human when it comes to social media. I am part of gen Z and therefore, I have always been confused about marketing, mainly because all the things you mention in the book make so much sense to me and I feel that many of them are quite intuitive once you get involved in a brand you actually like but they're not considered of 'best practice' by most of the companies. I've assisted to so much BS in my job and so many mentalities that made me want to table flip and get out, let alone people who decide in 3 seconds if they want to be part of something or not. Thank you for giving the new generation the seal of approval when it comes to how we feel about the social media and for leading the way (because we still need your experience - you're a great mentor! - and tone of voice - it's really catchy!). You are one of the very few figures who encouraged me to rely more on "social" than on "media". You know what's funny? That the people who would be able to do a good marketing (or at least take it to the right direction) are not hired because they're young and "don't have enough experience" whereas the problem actually is their so-called "experience" - it is ancient! The current job market has triple standards for entry positions for no reason, pushing us to the entrepreneurial side of things. More and more people my age are into start-ups now and maybe not all of them are going to turn out alright from the first shot but at least we will have the experiance to keep on going. After all, as you said in your acknowledgements (yes, I read that part!!), we are a byproduct of our circumstances and ours have a good prospectus to turn us into independent but still empathic figures. I wholeheartedly thank you again for taking the time to write this book. I know it hasn't been easy and it entailed a patience that is hard to reach when living in this world. You're a true inspiration and believe me when I say that you made me so much more confident in my aptitudes as a marketer already. Meanwhile, I go back to your book because I still have a lot left to read and I am so excited for the next chapter. À plus! Monica
Just hit the quarter point in the book where you ask for thoughts so far..... Most seems so easy to understand in hindsight yet invisible in foresight. The state of the marketing industry is easy for all to see but not many are looking in the right place. The light is shining the light in the right direction so far
