Have you checked out any of the talented artists on the Mayfly Records label this year?
We’re talking extraordinaries such as Arcane Synthetic, Arwr Neb, Ghost of Rucker 的幽灵拉克, and Subtlety; highly respected artists that banded together to support each other’s efforts on the Bandcamp platform. In that regard, they’ve been a success.

And then there is Bärkər.

Minimalistic.
Repetitive.
Subversive.
Antithetical.

Going by the numbers we are not supposed to go by, Bärkər has been a failure. But that’s okay. Fans were made. Giants were collaborated with. Goals were met.

It was a good run.

Have you checked out any of the talented artists on the Mayfly Records label recently?

As fans of her work can attest, the evolution of Subtlety has been something to behold. Starting out nearly two years ago as a piano-heavy balladeer, she has embraced a more experimental and dance oriented mindset the past year plus. Her collaborations with Ayden Thurso, Peter Nikolic, Bärkər, Entropy In Motion Music, and the sound outfit Uned Drydan (of which she and Tom Parsons are constants) have shaped Subtlety’s musical direction in surprising and highly interesting ways.

In her own words: “Subtlety’s aim is to produce music that encourages others to follow their dreams and help people to retain positivity on their journeys.”

If you have been binge scrolling this community at any point over the past couple of years, you have most likely come across Casey Rucker; aka Ghost of Rucker 的幽灵拉克 a time or three. A prolific, and highly original artist, the Ghost is also a fervent supporter of the community in more ways than many might be aware. He gives away his music. He gives away his time. He cheerleads like no one's business.

Despite all of that, he collaborates with an array of talent that covers all corners, yet consistently delivers the goods.

Arwr Neb is one of the first artists that was asked to align with Mayfly. And for good reason. His solo work was curious, and inviting, and had great staying power. An early fan of his rightfully stated, ‘A perfect blend of upbeat and chill.’

Here is where it started for me - and I am guessing many other fans of Mr. Parsons. What a wondrous journey this extended player provides.
