Internship—Advertising Sales Manager

Our expertise covers a wide range of topics, including adult and vocational education, career awareness, etiquette and social training, foreign language and English teaching, health care, labor relations, political action and legislative affairs, technology, and much more.
We rely upon a network of highly skilled freelancers to round out our roster of talent, adding to our diversity and helping us keep within our clients’ budgets. PMI maintains a presence in both Washington, DC, and the San Francisco Bay area.
Our latest venture is a full color magazine called GoSmartUSA. GoSmartUSA is the only publication in the DC metropolitan area designed to meet the needs of long-term international and domestic visitors. Every year, more than 700,000 people from countries all over the world come to the DC-metro area to live, work and study. GoSmartUSA will enhance their experience while they are here, provide information on every aspect of life in our region and offer advertisers an outlet that does not exist anywhere else to reach this audience.
We are seeking several interns to work both independently and as a team to sell advertising in GoSmart. The intern would be responsible for compiling a list of advertisers relevant to the magazine’s content, making calls and scheduling meetings, attending meetings to sell the advertising, and following up with clients. If he/she is successful, this internship could lead to a full time career at Print Management as Director of Marketing Sales.
This individual must be a confident, motivated self-starter with sophisticated speaking and communication skills. He/ She must be able to engage clients and maintain client relationships. He/ She must be extremely organized, proficient with internet technology and word processing, have maintained a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and provide at least one reference from a professor. This is an unpaid, six month internship designed to give field experience to students in marketing, advertising, business and corporate sales programs.
