We kicked things off celebrating our youngest’s birthday with a bowling party full of laughs, lights, and a few strikes. 🎳

Then we got to see the amazing Wonka production by the talented young actors at CharacterWorks Theater — seriously, if you haven’t been to one of their shows, add it to your list! 🍫🎭

And we wrapped it all up at the Rassawek Autumn Festival & Pro Rodeo, surrounded by good food, country air, and a whole lot of smiles. 🤠🍁

This weekend we got to cheer on our oldest at his soccer tournament and stop by a client appreciation event hosted by one of the best lenders in RVA. Great music, great company, and even better memories — especially when you happen to know the band 🎶🙌

Richmond’s East End just opened a $20 million community hub — the new Lucks Field Community Center on U Street. Inside: gyms, study rooms, a teaching kitchen, and even a rooftop basketball court with skyline views. Outside: playgrounds, fitness equipment, and a pool nearby.

City officials say it’s not just a rec center — it’s a space for connection, health, and safety for the whole community.

VCU’s new Athletic Village just hit a design speed bump — but this is not a bad thing.
The state’s architectural board said “not yet” to VCU’s first stadium design, meaning the university is heading back to the drawing board. At the same time, the West Grace Street dorm project — adding nearly 1,000 new student beds — got the official green light.

If you’ve driven past The Diamond recently, you can already see how this connects. The Athletic Village will sit right next to the new Diamond District, now officially branded as CarMax Park — home to the future ballpark and a mix of restaurants, retail, and housing.

Once VCU’s redesign is approved, this new sports complex will anchor the east side of the Diamond District, pumping new energy and foot traffic into neighborhoods like Carver, Scott’s Addition, and the Fan.

Short-term? Expect more cranes, dirt, and detours near Hermitage & Leigh.
Long-term? Richmond’s about to get a true 18-hour neighborhood — with student life, sports, dining, trails, and nightlife all in one walkable zone.

Major progress is tracking for 2026, so the next 12 months will be a big chapter in RVA’s growth story.
