RVing in South Dakota!! Jeremy had a great time giving a presentation on this topic last week! His major point during the talk was that South Dakota should not just be a quick drive by on your way further west. It can be its own one week trip. At the very least make sure you carve out enough time for Badlands NP, Custer SP, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Wind Cave and soooooo much more. Have you been to South Dakota on an RV trip? Let us know in the comments below! Do you have any questions about RVing in South Dakota? We would be happy to try and answer them! We will also probably turn this presentation into an episode of the RV Atlas podcast. Stay tuned!

Two years ago we had the opportunity to go to Iceland and take a road trip in a gorgeous motorhome from Rent Easy Iceland. It was our first trip ever without the kids. It was amazing and breathtaking in every way. We enjoyed the time together very much but knew we wanted to return with the boys. This year we did it. It was a shorter trip at a riskier time of year weather-wise.

But we pulled it off and it was epic in every way. This was one of those vacations that was hard to walk away from. If you love to travel and have ever been swept off your feet by the beauty of some place far away from home—then you know what we mean. This was a bucket list trip for us. Our whole family together in one of the most beautiful places in the world doing what we do. Exploring together and going on adventures. We will all remember this trip forever and ever amen. RV Atlas podcast coming soon.

Öxarárfoss Waterfall in April and Öxaráfoss Waterfall in May!

What a difference a month makes in Iceland!

We wanted to bring the boys back to this lovely waterfall in Thingvellir National Park in Iceland’s Golden Circle but didn’t know it would be super close to frozen solid! There was literally a trickle of water in one spot.

Either way—the hike and the national park were breathtaking!

Iceland’s Golden Circle is filled with many natural wonders and is just a short and easy drive from Reykjavik!

Do you have questions about visiting Iceland? Let me know in the comments below.

We will do another Iceland podcast soon.

This popped up in my feed today. It was publication day for our first book 10 years ago.

Wes was pretty excited. Probably because we were pretty excited.

We were not sure if we would ever write another book again—because writing books is really hard.

We wrote the first chunk of that book while we were on a 34 day RV trip with our three kids.

The manager of the Myrtle Beach KOA let us hole up at the campground for a while to get some work done.

Living and working remotely in an RV with kids is often romanticized. After that 34 day stretch we knew it wasn’t something that we wanted to do—or at the very least—do that often.

We had to head home to really get the book knocked into shape.

Now it’s ten years later.

Wes is much bigger.

We’ve written 8 more books.

We sold that house and bought another up the road with more space for growing boys and much better RV parking.

But I’ll always be thankful for that first book.

That book and the RV Atlas podcast changed the direction of our entire lives.

We kinda made something out of nothing. And that will always be the kind of something that I like best.
