Two years ago we had the opportunity to go to Iceland and take a road trip in a gorgeous motorhome from Rent Easy Iceland. It was our first trip ever without the kids. It was amazing and breathtaking in every way. We enjoyed the time together very much but knew we wanted to return with the boys. This year we did it. It was a shorter trip at a riskier time of year weather-wise.

But we pulled it off and it was epic in every way. This was one of those vacations that was hard to walk away from. If you love to travel and have ever been swept off your feet by the beauty of some place far away from home—then you know what we mean. This was a bucket list trip for us. Our whole family together in one of the most beautiful places in the world doing what we do. Exploring together and going on adventures. We will all remember this trip forever and ever amen. RV Atlas podcast coming soon.

Öxarárfoss Waterfall in April and Öxaráfoss Waterfall in May!

What a difference a month makes in Iceland!

We wanted to bring the boys back to this lovely waterfall in Thingvellir National Park in Iceland’s Golden Circle but didn’t know it would be super close to frozen solid! There was literally a trickle of water in one spot.

Either way—the hike and the national park were breathtaking!

Iceland’s Golden Circle is filled with many natural wonders and is just a short and easy drive from Reykjavik!

Do you have questions about visiting Iceland? Let me know in the comments below.

We will do another Iceland podcast soon.

This popped up in my feed today. It was publication day for our first book 10 years ago.

Wes was pretty excited. Probably because we were pretty excited.

We were not sure if we would ever write another book again—because writing books is really hard.

We wrote the first chunk of that book while we were on a 34 day RV trip with our three kids.

The manager of the Myrtle Beach KOA let us hole up at the campground for a while to get some work done.

Living and working remotely in an RV with kids is often romanticized. After that 34 day stretch we knew it wasn’t something that we wanted to do—or at the very least—do that often.

We had to head home to really get the book knocked into shape.

Now it’s ten years later.

Wes is much bigger.

We’ve written 8 more books.

We sold that house and bought another up the road with more space for growing boys and much better RV parking.

But I’ll always be thankful for that first book.

That book and the RV Atlas podcast changed the direction of our entire lives.

We kinda made something out of nothing. And that will always be the kind of something that I like best.

The legend Kerri Cox from has been back on the RV Atlas podcast these past two weeks giving us an epic two part “Beginner’s Guide to RVing in Colorado” miniseries!

I loved her approach to shaping these two in-depth episodes. Instead of only focusing on RMNP and Denver she takes us on an RV centric tour of THE ENTIRE STATE using the Colorado Tourism’s Office “8 Regions” approach to the state.

Kerri has a deep love for Colorado and it comes through on all of the great Colorado content she has done for us over the years!! I loved hosting these two episodes and I know you will love listening to them!

Hope you join us around the digital campfire!

How about you? Have you taken an RV trip to Colorado? If so—where did you go and where did you camp?

And more importantly—when it comes to Colorado—where do you want to camp next?

Thanks for the awesome episodes Kerri!!!

This Dual Magnetic Cutting Board and Knife Set from .windsor is a substantial and well-made piece of gear! It also comes with a non-slip prep mat/carry bag which I neglected to mention. I believe in the “buy once cry once” philosophy when it comes to camping gear. How about you?
