Meet Laura Payne! ✨

Laura has had a lifelong love for sign language and helping children communicate. As a Teacher of the Deaf, adjunct professor of American Sign Language, and mom of two young children, she brings a playful, approachable perspective to early communication through ASL.

She holds both an undergraduate and master’s degree in Education of the Deaf and shares her expertise through teaching, training services, self-study courses, and social media. Laura is also the author of Play, Monkey, Play!, a fun and engaging children’s book that encourages little ones to learn, move, and communicate through play!

We’re proud to partner with Widener University’s Speech-Language Pathology Clinic in Chester, Pennsylvania!

This summer, the clinic added 25 Ninewise board books to its preschool program as part of a partnership with Ninewise. The books are being used in individual and group activities to support pediatric therapy sessions and graduate clinician training.

The team shared this sweet moment after using I Hear Nature during a classroom activity:

“My favorite part was when a student came up to the clinician and said, ‘I have a friend who can read, and I’m going to invite them over to read this book to me.’ It made my heart smile.”

We’re honored to see our books being used to support learning, connection, and language development. 💛
