There are few days that bring Americans together quite like the Fourth of July.
This year feels especially meaningful as we celebrate 250 years of the American experiment—a nation built on the enduring ideals of liberty, self-government, and the belief that each generation has a responsibility to leave things better than they found them.
As Masons, those ideas resonate with us. Our fraternity has always encouraged men to build character, serve their communities, care for one another, and strive to be better husbands, fathers, friends, and neighbors. Those values don’t belong to Freemasonry alone, but they are values we’re proud to live by.
Many of our nation’s founders were Masons, many were not, but all were part of a generation willing to sacrifice for something greater than themselves. Their courage gave us the opportunity to continue building a more perfect Union, one generation at a time.
Today, we hope you’ll take time to enjoy the fireworks, share a meal with family and friends, laugh a little louder, and pause for a moment to appreciate the freedoms we often take for granted.
