Milwaukee's German Newspapers Index I wanted to find Milwaukee's German working-class families, and I did. My indexing is focused on family information. Clearly, I’m doing something right.

My HUGE index created from Milwaukee's German-American newspapers fills a CAVERN in local collections; our DIVERSE German story has always been obstructed by WASP bigotry (aka DAR). Back in the summer of 2007, a gift of newspaper clippings from Milwaukee’s German language newspapers was a Eureka! moment: the families themselves placed death notices for infants, children and adults in these papers.

Clearly, the large German-American community was sharing their family news; these papers were not just a tool for memorializing the wealthy or well-connected as the prosperity-genealogy culture would have us believe. This is the first resource of its kind in Germanic Milwaukee - EVER. The opposition to my effort has been brutal; the spread of disinformation, persistent; and collusion has occurred between multiple organizations to suppress my work. This ongoing work is brought to you by a Democratic Socialist.

Once more the Milwaukee Public Library-Central Branch influences the Resident of the White House!
Without discussion, agreement, any prior knowledge, or any other ethical or professional decency or consideration, the name of the library was added as "additional author" to the catalog entry of my work there called "Milwaukee's German Newspapers Index...".
When I brought this to the attention of MPL Humanities Manager Virginia Schwartz, the "additional author" status was removed.

Sadly, no Washington DC Librarian will have that power to restore the renamed Kennedy Center.
