Milwaukee's German Newspapers Index I've raised up Milwaukee's German working-class families into the light of day! My indexing is focused on family information. Clearly, I’m doing something right.

My HUGE index created from Milwaukee's German-American newspapers fills a CAVERN in area collections; our DIVERSE German story has long been obstructed by WASP bigotry. Back in the summer of 2007, a gift of newspaper clippings from Milwaukee’s German language newspapers was a Eureka! moment: the families themselves placed death notices for infants, children and adults in these papers. Clearly, the large German-American community was sharing their family news; these papers were not just a tool for memorializing the wealthy or well-connected as the prosperity-genealogy culture would have us believe. This is the first resource of its kind in Germanic Milwaukee - EVER. The opposition to my effort has been brutal; the spread of disinformation, persistent; and collusion has occurred between multiple organizations to suppress my work. This ongoing work is brought to you by a Democratic Socialist.

BURIAL MYSTERY SOLVED!
The burial of Officer Frank Piszczek ... 1884 newspaper reporting on the funeral & burial for slain Officer Frank Piszczek misnames Holy Trinity Cemetery as where he was laid to rest. Maybe that was because he was buried _from_ Holy Trinity Church?

But Frank was actually buried next door at St. Adalbert's Cemetery: a 2025 photograph added to the Find-a-Grave memorial included the GPS coordinates. A Find-a-Grave tool visually pinpoints the GPS location.
Some historical fiction about cemetery names added to the bio field wouldn't have encouraged anyone to locate the actual grave.
But clearly, someone was motivated.
A little brushing down with water will make the text on the monument more legible.

The family pictured here has some roots in Bavaria. It's connection to crime goes back at least 3 generations, and now 2 generations forward. That's fascinating.

That stuff is STILL going around in 'sconsin's rural church communities.
