That’s a wrap for 2022! A huge thank you to every single person who supported our small business. Sharing the amazing work of local artisans, authors, and craftspeople has been the biggest blessing of our lives. We've got some incredible things planned for the new year! See y'all in 2023!!!
We will be open 10-4 on December 21st and 22nd, and 10-1 on the 23rd. We will be closed from December 24th through January 9th, 2023 as we are working to roll out new product lines for the New Year! DECKED OUT was a HUGE success! It was an amazing evening showcasing the creative talents of young artists from Webster Parish Schools (and a few pros as well). Shout out to Jennifer Heard Art and Kayla Dianne Martin for their tireless dedication in the classroom and for always being positive proponents of the arts in our area. The "DECKS-hibition" will be up through Tuesday, December 13th. We resume our normal store hours today and will be open from 10-4. Stop by and check out the amazing work! We appreciate everyone's flexibility as we setup for this incredible event yesterday.

Many of you might not know that Patrick's background in Graphic Design is rooted in a love of early 80's skateboard graphics. While a professor at Louisiana Tech, that love turned in to an annual exhibition "Deck the Halls," which continues to this day.
On Thursday, December 8th at 6PM, the PDC is hosting its very own Skateboard Deck Exhibition, "Decked Out" that will feature incredible work by students from Webster Parish Schools and a few area professionals as well. We're expecting over 40 submissions and will be celebrating all things Art & Skateboarding. FREE & Open to the public! We hope you'll "drop in" and check it out!

We've been sharing a lot about our retail and course offerings lately ... so we thought we'd change things up a bit and talk about design! We were recently engaged by LaTech Innovation, to develop a brand package that captured the creative and collaborative spirit of their dynamic program. Lead designer, Mary Taylor Carwile, produced an energetic mark and visual system that could function under the larger University brand umbrella as well as embrace the entrepreneurial nexus that is The Innovation Enterprise. With one facility anchoring the corner of Tech's campus, Tech Pointe I, and a new facility under construction across the street, Tech Pointe II, we are grateful for the opportunity to get to the "pointe" and develop the visual anchor for this amazing program and their facilities.
The Misfortune Cookie is coming back and ready to share her cookie decorating skills with you! 6 cookies plus icing for decorating will be provided by The Misfortune Cookie. A box will be supplied to take your cookies home, once completed.

We love the Minden St. Jude auction! For years, we have worked in different ways to raise $$$ for the kids at The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This year we are trying something new! From now until Christmas, bring your unwrapped gifts to the PDC (maximum of 5) and we will wrap them for you. Bows and all!!! In exchange, we simply ask that you make a donation to the auction. All $$$ raised will be presented at the Minden St. Jude auction February 9-12, 2023! Support the auction AND let us get some of your wrapping done for the holidays!

CALL FOR ARTISTS: We want YOU to be a part of the show. We have a limited number of blank skateboard decks available for purchase for $20. We LOVE developing websites, brand packages, and supporting design endeavors for clients in Minden and all over North Louisiana. Did you know that we do work for national clients as well? The November issue of the Massachusetts Beverage Business Journal was just sent off to the publisher. Not only did we build a custom web application for managing wholesale spirits pricing, we also assist with the layout of their beautiful 560 page publication. We may be small, but we can do it all.
We are excited to have the one and only Vicki Mighell at Parish Design Co. on Saturday, October 29, from 10:30 to 12:30. Vicki will take your child’s handprint or footprint and create the most precious keepsake for you. A single handprint or footprint will be $30. Two handprints or footprints will be $40. Finished artwork will be available for pickup at the PDC on November 18.
