Left to Right, Top to Bottom: Lang, Dawson, Miles, Major, Irwin, Norby, Scott, Oduguwa
Eight people are in Hennepin County custody after a Saturday rally outside Minneapolis City Hall turned into a street-level confrontation. According to Minneapolis police, just before noon two vehicles connected to the rally drove up onto the sidewalk in front of City Hall toward a crowd of people who had gathered there. Officers moved in to get the vehicles off the sidewalk and out of the area, and later tracked both down, stopping one near Washington Avenue and I-35W and the other in Bloomington.
The rally had been announced weeks in advance by Edward Jacob Lang, 31, a pardoned January 6th defendant who has organized similar demonstrations at the same location before. Lang was among those arrested. It has not been confirmed through the jail roster which of the other seven booked were in the vehicles that drove onto the sidewalk versus arrested separately in the area around City Hall โ all eight are booked on the same probable cause riot statute, but their individual roles in the incident are not yet established through available records.
