🗞️THE SCOOP📰

As we walked up the steps and through the front door, we were welcomed by the sound of soft music, engulfed by a tall chic ceiling, & surrounded by a dim moody ambiance. We ran into Gwen who helped us out two weeks ago with some recommendations on what to try. Noise levels were fairly calm as we hung out by the fireplace under the cluster of hanging lights before speaking with Dat Vu, one of the owners of Phê Coffee.🧱
Dat was born in Vietnam, he grew up in Europe, & went to school at the U of M. His international background helps him create a pallet that all cultures can enjoy. Whether it’s Vietnamese coffee, Banhnini (Banh mi x panini), or croffles, Phê has a little bit of everything for anyone.🥪
Phê is a third space. Dat shared that their goal is to provide an area where people can come to enjoy, relax, & connect with each other. Regardless of race, views, or stances, to them coffee is what brings people together. Another one of their goals is to help elevate the perception of Vietnamese Coffee.🫱🏼🫲🏽
Fun Fact: Dat served in the army and likes to play table tennis.🏓

🤔FINAL THOUGHTS💭
Phê is pretty solid. The first impression was that the space is really cool. The inside of the shop is unique & aesthetically pleasing. From the bean bags & flower garlands decorating the space to the bookshelf filled with games, It’s a very photogenic space. The environment is very warm and friendly. The staff were helpful & the RePHEsher drink was on point. Keep an eye out before the end of the year for their new expansion on Grand Avenue!👍🏼
