Join us each month for Black Collective Care + Connection Sessions. A series of social gatherings hosted at Bichota for Black folks to convene, connect, and politic together. Consider it a 3rd space. These sessions are an open opportunity for relationship building, political education, and dreaming of new pathways towards interdependence. Grounded in Black folks' histories of caring for one another and local realities but always expanding our view to national and global struggles.
Feel welcome to attend one, two, or all sessions. Black Collective Care + Connection Session is an offering to reflect on the past, imagining what's ahead, and be in practice together. All sessions will be a blend of historical reference, open discussion, and a creative activity.
Session #1 May 30th 5pm - 7pm
"Rooted & Remembering"
In this session we will discuss Black folk histories of care, get to know one another, create our own migration patterns from whatever we may know of how we got here. We will also create a "care log" that is an invitation to documenting the care you receive, give, or have ideas and questions about throughout the summer.
