Join REP Studio trainers Sandy, Paige, and Ar’tesha for a 3-part Radical Study Group on the history of community defense — featuring readings from Assata Shakur and the American Indian Movement.

In Person - Sumner Library | Nov 24th, Dec 1st & 8th | 6–7:30 PM

PLEASE REGISTER FOR EACH SESSION INDIVIDUALLY.
Attendance at all three sessions is not mandatory, but highly encouraged.
There is no required pre-reading since we collectively read the text aloud during the session.

PDFs to the texts and supplementary materials will be emailed to participants prior to each session. Printed materials will be distributed in-person at the beginning of the session.

ConFluence: Futures in Color | October 18 + 19, 2025 | 10am-8pm | Northrup King Building
ConFluence: Futures in Color is a 2-day convention in NE Minneapolis celebrating art, sci-fi, futurisms, and fantasy centered on content by and for Black people, Indigenous people, and people of color.

ConFluence features cosplay, creative workshops, panels, an art and vendor marketplace, gaming, special industry guests, youth activities, a dance party, and an art exhibition.

Get to know the folks holding our community trainings! ✨

The current formation of the facilitators for this training is made up of five people who came together and built the vision of REP in the summer of 2020. There are also skilled organizers, artists, teachers & folks that wear multiple hats who have been building the work of REP since its origin.

In addition, we rely on the wisdom & knowledge of community partners and relationships outside of REP that facilitate and make this training possible.

REP wouldn’t exist without the brilliance of these people and relationships! 💜

UPDATE: Session #1 Changed Date: Sunday OCT 19 → Saturday OCT 18

This journey has been an experiment from the start, and we’re so sorry for the inconvenience. We were unable to secure a space for our session on the 19th, so the training will now take place on October 18th. If you’ve already submitted an application, we’ll be reaching out to you directly.

This is the only date change, and we do not foresee any further adjustments.

We deeply appreciate your understanding and continued support!

Introducing REP Fall 2025 Training: For Community, By Community 🍂🖤

This fall, REP invites you into a space rooted in Dakota and Anishinaabe lifeways, where we practice what our communities have always known: showing up for one another with care, dignity, and respect.

In our fifth year, we continue the work that began in 2020—training community members to respond in moments of crisis with love, not punishment. Together, we’re building systems of repair, connection, and collective strength.

Join us in honoring land, people, and practices that shift us away from disposability toward deep community care.
