Hey Radiant Soul!
When was the last time you did something that felt big and scary knowing that if you did the thing it could move you closer to your dreams?
That's what I did last night. For years, I've been wanting to learn how to DJ like those who do shows on stage. I think it's so cool how DJs can play music and get people feeling happy and dancing and how the energy in the space can truly create special moments for people.
I remember when I was at Breakaway recently, seeing Zedd perform and I was singing along to ‘Clarity'. At one point during the song, a middle-aged woman dancing next to me glanced at me and in that moment, both of us were singing ‘Clarity’ to each other. We didn't know each other, had never seen each other before, but yet we shared a brief, special moment connected by our love for music.
But back to my DJ story. Last week I came across an Instagram post about FREE DJ classes going on this month. They're bringing in local DJs to teach people how to use DJ controllers and how to start out as a DJ. Well, DJ controllers is what DJs use when performing onstage. It's the equipment they use to play their music. I've been wanting to learn how to use one of those for years! I know that if I want to be on stages and perform my music for others, I'll have to learn how to use a controller. And did i mention the classes are free?? And you don't even have to own any equipment. They have equipment you can use to learn on! So, of course I signed up!
I was considering buying a DJ controller for a while but hadn't found one at a good deal. After I signed up for the class, I looked online for DJ controllers. I ended up finding a controller that's beginner friendly and affordable. The best part is, I was able to finance the cost! I bought it!
It amazes me how everything just seemed to come together right now. It's like the Universe helping me along in my music journey. And that was after i told myself that I was really gonna put more effort into my music this summer since I have more time on my hands away from my day job. I found the class. I was available to take the class. It was free. I found a controller I could afford. I bought the controller. I have an amazing support system cheering me on throughout my journey. I feel so blessed and thankful right now.
It's amazing what can happen when you step out on faith and move towards a life of more alignment. I hope that you can find it in yourself to step out on faith and go after your dreams. You may not have everything you need right now like I didn't when I signed up for the class. Maybe it was signing up for the class that signaled the Universe (God) to say, “OK. She's ready to move forward. Let's help her along.”
