J.J. McCarthy traded to the Steelers 🔥

The Minnesota Vikings have traded quarterback J.J. McCarthy to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick.

McCarthy, the former No. 10 overall pick out of Michigan, was named the backup behind Carson Wentz earlier this week after losing the starting job in training camp. The 23-year-old expressed his desire to remain with the Vikings, but with multiple quarterbacks on the roster, the team opted to move on.

Training camp continues in Mankato as the team works through the final stretch of practices ahead of the preseason.

Justin Jefferson continues to prove he’s one of the most complete receivers in the league — route running, contested catches, yards after contact, all of it.

Meanwhile, Kyler Murray has been given talent for years and still can’t consistently elevate the people around him or stay out of his own way. Different standard over here.

We’re not waiting on anyone to figure it out.

Players and coaches remain focused on building chemistry and refining the details that will carry into the regular season.
