Minneapplesauce

Minneapplesauce Minneapplesauce is a compote of ideas. It's a blind alley, a trick door, and a false resolution.

It's what happens when you take Minneapolis and mix it with everything. The ingredients, in no particular configuration, are literature, music, film, and anything else that comes into view, and the map is wide.

Vita.mn pick! "As part of the trio The Bad Plus, local bassist and composer Reid Anderson has always been to jazz what those weird tapioca balls are to bubble tea — clashingly counterintuitive, delivering of odd sensation, and yet exquisitely pleasurable. Now, thanks to the SPCO’s experimental Liquid Music Series, he gets to go classical. 'The Rough Mixes' is the world premiere of Anderson’s first full-evening work, a liminal mélange of high-class strings (including SPCO concertmaster Steven Copes on violin), plunking percussion and electronics. Anderson even throws in some video installations for good measure, courtesy of Brooklyn architect Cristina Guadalupe."

Andrew Voegtline wins $50,000 McKnight grant from IFP
Yeah!
Any chance you'd consider adding dance, theater, food, or beer to literature, film, and music? Or would those just fall into the "anything else" category?
