You may or may not know but April is National Donate Life Month.

This is very near and dear to our hearts as our President, Paul Boehmer, was a recipient of a liver in 2023. This selfless act saved his life and we are forever grateful. He is doing great and has become an Ambassador for LifeSource which is an organ procurement organization in the Upper Midwest! Donations work and they save lives.

The Twin Cities Hoo-Hoo #12 fully supports registering to become an organ donor and would love for you to consider. There are links below that can help assist you along the way.

April is National Donate Life Month! 💙💚 Across many cultures, birds are one of the most welcomed and visible signs of spring. They represent both new beginnings and visits from loved ones who have passed away.

This National Donate Life Month, join us in helping to save and heal lives – register your decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor at RegisterMe.org and share your decision with your family and community! 💙💚 Visit www.DonateLife.net/NDLM for all of the free resources you can use to let life sing!

Spring is around the corner and so is our Top Golf event!
Sign up now as space is limited.

This is a great event that will allow for some excellent conversation, networking and to raise money that goes towards community-based projects (e.g. scholarships, donate lumber for a local school to make beds for kids that sleep on the floor, handicap ramp for a forestry museum, etc.)

Congrats to Bridget Reynolds - 2024 Lumber Person of the Year, 2024 Dunwoody College of Technology Scholarship recipients: Alex Corbett, Grace Sykes, and Evan Knutson (who was not present).

Also a huge shout out to the Snark, John Taylor, who flew in from California to visit parts of the Twin Cities throughout the day and spend the evening with us. It was great getting to know him!

Last but not least, John Gerlach for the endless work he does for this organization!

It was a great night and cannot wait until next year! Happy Holiday everyone! Health, Happiness and Long Life

In addition to the ramp built at the museum, the 44th annual Gurdon Forest Festival was this past October, our President, Paul Boehmer attended and was able to give us some great feedback from that festival!

"Greetings from Minnesota after returning from the HHI Office and Museum in Gurdon, Arkansas. The Forest Festival was a wonderful time as you can see by the attached photos. Anita Cabe was kind enough to host a reception and dinner at the museum on Friday before the Forest Festival. There were eleven HHI members from across the country and local Gurdon Club members in attendance.

Saturday we walked in the town parade, sold merchandise from our Hoo-Hoo store, judged the Halloween contest, and participated in the auction where HHI members bought a ham for $500 which was donated to an adult facility in town.

We walked around visiting the extremely friendly people of Gurdon and ended up enjoying a special chili recipe by Stacey Jones. This is a great two festival that is a must attend by all Hoo Hoo members."

We will be sure to keep you posted on next year's festival for anyone who is interested in attending!

HHI Board decided it wanted a handicap ramp at the entrance of the Forestry Museum in Gurdon, AR. The Gurdon High School shop class participated in the build and Twin Cities Club #12 was able to sponsor this build and contribute to the material cost of the ramp and plaque. Supplies were purchased from Hardman Lumber, a local organization to Gurdon.

The new ramp looks great and will be used for many years to come! Thank you all for your effort in making this happen!
