Under his solo alias, AИTITHESIS, Jack Denney (1/3rd of Ternion Sound) continues his explorations into dark percussive dance music, textural ambient spaces, and various nodes along the Hardcore Continuum. The project threads a line through the eras of early 90s Jungle, Hardcore, and Gabber; through the 2000s Techstep, Neurofunk, Dark Garage, and Dubstep; and into today’s near genre-less explosion of new synthesis technologies and advancements in timbre and groove focused musics. This darker side of dance music encapsulates the feelings of dread, malaise, awe, amazement, anxiety, and wonder associated with existing in postmodernity. All of this is packaged in tightly packed DJ performances meant to offer a place of catharsis, bonding, and expression through dance for the listeners.
This program’s mission is to create a space for artists to tell their story. The BASSment has been a place for so many artists to feel free to play music they may not normally get to play out. During the interview segment the guest artist will get to talk about where they have come from, things they are working on and where they would like to see themselves going in the future. There will also be a Q & A segment led by questions submitted by listeners and followers of the channel.
