Father’s Day hits different when your dad is gone.

I scroll past all the “I love you, Dad” posts
And I just… ache.
Because I don’t get to make that call.
I don’t get to buy the card or write the silly caption.
I don’t get one more hug or to hear “I’m proud of you” ever again.

I’m still his little girl.
But he’s not here.
And nothing fills that hole.

So if you’ll be missing your dad on Father’s Day…
I see you.
You’re not alone in this kind of heartbreak.

Some of us are just learning how to live without the man who made us feel safest.
And damn, that’s not something you ever really get used to.
