The Minot Police Department has provided a press release on a SWAT Situation that happened in October. According to the Public Information Officer T. a Suspect has been arrested and charged with Multiple felonies.
These are the Details According to the Police Department. = On Dec. 14, at approximately 6 a.m., the Minot Police Department was dispatched to a residence in northwest Minot for a report of a roommate inviting unwanted
individuals into the residence. Upon arrival, officers had reason to believe that Moises Chavez, 45, of Minot, was inside the residence. Chavez was arrested in connection with an Oct. 29 SWAT incident and faces the following charges: Terrorizing (Class C Felony), Aggravated Assault – Serious Bodily Injury (Class C Felony), Fleeing a Peace Officer (Class A Misdemeanor), and four counts of Disobedience of a Judicial Order. Chavez was
taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ward County Jail.
During the investigation, officers also discovered that two additional individuals at
the residence had outstanding warrants. The initial reporting party, Christina Lee
Gibson, 40, of Minot, had an outstanding Mountrail County warrant for Failure to
Comply and was taken into custody.
A third individual, Amanda Rae Backman, 42, of Minot, was also present at the residence and had a full extradition warrant from Georgia for Probation Violation involving Schedule I Narcotics. Backman was taken into custody and transported to the Ward County Jail. This investigation remains ongoing.

The Minot Police Department has obtained a warrant for the arrest of Moises N.
Chavez, 45, of Minot, for the charges of Terrorizing (Class C Felony) and
Aggravated Assault (Class C Felony). The warrant was issued today, Nov. 13.
This investigation stems from an Oct. 29 incident in which officers responded to an
aggravated assault that led to a SWAT Team activation at a residence in southwest The incident began when a victim was transported to the hospital for injuries
sustained during the assault. During the initial investigation, it was believed the
suspect was barricaded inside the residence and potentially armed. The SWAT Team
utilized various less-lethal tactics designed to encourage the suspect to exit the
residence and allow officers to safely resolve the situation. As the investigation
progressed, officers determined the suspect was not inside the residence.
The victim received medical treatment for their injuries.0
