A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 8:15 pm CDT for northeastern Sheridan and western Wells county. This storm is capable of quarter size hail and winds to 60 mph. This includes areas in and near Harvey.

Hey, Minot area! See that outflow boundary (the white line)? That is wind 30-40 mph heading our way. It's NOT severe - but if you're wondering why it got so windy suddenly, it's from that severe storm to the NE in Bottineau and McHenry counties.

Live severe weather coverage continues on K-Hits 106 (106.9 FM and www.KHits106.com): A new severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for southern Bottineau and northern McHenry counties until 7:45 pm CDT. Prepare for golf ball size hail (1.75") and up to 60 mph wind in and around:
Upham, Russell, Gardena, Kramer, and Omemee.

Are you ready for today? It's going to be hot and humid this afternoon with the highest humidity mid afternoon when we'll likely be well into the 90s. There could be a few storms today but the odds are fairly low, however the southcentral is in the "slight risk" category so the odds will be a bit higher. While it looks like a better chance of showers and storms late tomorrow, there are timing and storm placement issues we still don't have nailed down yet. If/when there are severe storms in our area, we'll be all over it on Hey Tom Is On and on K-Hits 106.

You can expect wind up to 50 mph if the storm moves over you. The smaller storms are mostly heavy brief rain. Lightning can strike 10-12 miles or more from the parent storm so please be safe outside as many are wrapping up the long 4th of July weekend!
