A year ago, I made a bold move — the kind that feels like you’re leaping off a ledge with nothing but trust to catch you.
I decided to hit pause on my podcast, Get F***ing Real 🎙️ — a podcast that felt like the most honest reflection of me, and a space where others showed up just as unfiltered and unapologetic.
I had a major new creative endeavor on my plate, and I was navigating the grief journey following my mother’s passing in 2022. Which feels like it changed me on a cellular level. I know you get it. 💛
Truthfully? Launching that show in the first place was bold as hell. The name made people uncomfortable. I had colleagues tell me it was “too much,” that I’d alienate people, or look like I was trying too hard.
But it was never about being edgy for the sake of it. It was about telling the truth — the beautiful, complicated human truth.
Each week, I sat down with bold entrepreneurs who were willing to share their rawest, realest turning point stories — the messy, cringe-y, and deeply human moments — so you and others could feel less alone and more fired up to keep going, no matter what’s trying to take you out.
That’s what makes GFR so magnetic.
People wanted to be on the show because it gave them space to talk about what they hadn’t spoken of before — the hard stuff, the beautiful stuff, the things they didn’t even know they were holding onto.
Some episodes were confessions years in the making. Others captured a moment still unfolding.
And some guests… are no longer with us 💔. Which only makes revisiting our time together more poignant. (see links in the comments below)
Because life is not a dress rehearsal. Every time we delay our truth — we rob ourselves of the chance to fulfill our deeper purpose.
So today, I want to say THANK YOU.
For sticking with me.
For believing in this message.
For being part of a movement that says: enough pretending. Let’s get f***ing real.
P.S. Until next time, I’ll leave you with a few episodes that hold a special place in my heart — and carry powerful stories you might need to hear (or revisit). You'll find the links in the comments below.
