What an absolutely incredible (and packed!) way to open our Wild Mercy reading series! A huge thanks to Shakespeare and Co for hosting us, and to our incredible first readers, Cassidy Randall and Haley Yarborough. Their pieces took us from the backyard marshes of California to the High Arctic, and we were so delighted to be able to share the writing of two such wonderful authors with Missoula!

Officially introducing Camas’ new co-editor 🥁🥁🥁 Connor Shearrer. Connor is a second-year Environmental Studies graduate student focusing on environmental writing (with political ecology and philosophy in the mix 🤫). Born and raised in Denver, he came to Missoula after a short stint in Laramie, WY. He’s pictured here in his molt phase 😵‍💫 His catchphrase? “Submit work to Camas—if you’re cool enough…”

(De-composition)

One word at least where life and death share a tongue. The page has too often brought death to life. Enough composition. Literature is becoming litter. De-compose with us.
