THE AVALANCHE WARNING HAS BEEN EXTENDED THROUGH TODAY. THE AVALANCHE DANGER IS HIGH.
Wet snow, rain, and temperatures above freezing have created very dangerous avalanche conditions. The hazard will continue to rise today with ongoing precipitation.
Today is not the day to take chances. Wet snow problems are unpredictable and can not be accurately assessed with standard snowpack tests. Very large and destructive natural and human triggered avalanches are likely today. They may run from peak to valley floor. Traveling in or under avalanche terrain is not recommended.
Please visit the link below, and refer to the full forecast and AVALANCHE WARNING for further details.

New episode premieres tonight (& every Sunday) from 6-7 MST. We invite you to join us on The Trail Less Traveled for an interview with photographer, film maker & river guide, Dawn Kish.
This interview features the adventure & story behind of her recent film, “Tad’s Emerging World: Glen Canyon Exposed”.
This film was recently honored at the Banff Mountain Film Festival and documents the hidden treasure of the Southwest known as Glen Canyon.
This epic landscape of red sandstone walls, flowing rivers and cultural sites is under a giant reservoir called Lake Powell.
The lake is at its lowest water level since the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam in 1963.
Kish is going on an adventure to explore this canyon she never knew with an old Crown Graphic 4×5 camera.
This camera documented Glen Canyon pre-dam from an incredible photographer, Tad Nichols, from 1950-1963.
What is emerging?
What will be learned?
What is preserved?
What will develop?
Glen Canyon’s destiny is still unknown.

Overview numbers of yesterday’s accidents. These do not include all the calls to 911 with people requesting intersections to be sanded or graveld. Winter is here and will most likely be here for a while. Leave extra time. Leave room. Slow down. Focus on the road. Remember we have lots of young drivers who are experiencing their first time driving on ice and snow. Please be kind so everyone can get to their destination safely.
