As we approach episode 500, we’re going to introduce you to some of the humans around the world who remain in our heart & have profoundly shifted perspectives by allowing Mandela to document their story and share it with the world. 🥥 Episode 209: Meet coconut mama, Eshota, whom Mandela met while studying Ashtanga near the Arabian Sea in Kovalam, southern India. Eshota has been cutting coconuts everyday with machete for the past 37 years. She sells coconuts to Yogis and tourists from 7am-8pm and makes rope from coconut fibers from 9pm-2am. Every morning after Yoga, Mandela would sit with her and go through 4-5 coconuts while slowly getting to know her depth and wisdom as they laughed whole heartedly through language barriers. During her 2016 interview, Eshota shares the health benefits of ingesting fresh coconut milk and savory flesh. She describes the variety of coconuts in the world and the attributes of the ones which can heal ailments. To some on the outside, she may appear to have nothing but after listening to her story, you discover she has everything she needs: good health, family and faith. To this day she calls Mandela her daughter and they occasionally speak on the phone. 🎧 Listen to her podcast 👉🏿 linktr.ee/TrailLessTraveled OR stroll over to the archives 👇🏽 🌍 TrailLessTraveled.net/Listen 🌏 Episode 500 airs on Sunday, May 22 from 6-7 MST. 📡 Stream live every week 👉🏻 Trail1033.com 📻 OR tune in locally on the Trail 1033 FM. n.b. New episode premieres tonight! Join us this evening as we sit down with Jess McGlothlin, an international fly fishing guide, journalist and photographer. Jess was born in Colombia Falls, Montana, and grew up fly fishing, riding horses and doing rodeo events. Jess has documented fisheries in five continents but continues to return to Missoula in between international assignments. For this episode, Jess speaks about the influx of new residents in Missoula and how that can be both a negative AND a positive thing for our rivers and resources. Jess shares with us the importance of proper fish handling as we enter into yet another hot summer. 🐟 One of the main takeaways of this episode is the concept of "Keep Fish Wet" a concept of keeping fish (especially trout) in the river during the hot summer months in order to protect them, their slim and the health of fisheries for future generations. This is an awesome and inspirational show, enjoy! 📻📡 STREAM LIVE every Sunday evening from 6-7 MST 👉🏿 www.Trail1033.com & locally on the Trail 1033 FM. 🎧🌍 “The Trail Less Traveled” is everywhere podcasts are available & TrailLessTraveled.net
