🇲🇽 BLUE LEARNS ABOUT MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY

Admiral Blue here! 🐾🇲🇽

Apparently there is a BIG celebration coming, so naturally I assumed there would be snacks.

Mama says, “Blue, first you have to learn why we're celebrating.” 😂

Mexico celebrates its Independence Day on September 16, remembering the beginning of the struggle for independence from Spain in 1810.

Early on the morning of September 16, Catholic priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla called people to rise up in what became known as the Grito de Dolores.

It began a struggle that would last years before Mexico finally achieved independence.

So this week we're going to learn a little about the country we call home — its history, traditions, people, food and celebrations. ❤️🤍💚

🇺🇸 September 11 — We Remember 🇺🇸
Today, Blue’s Corner is a little quieter.
Twenty-five years ago, on September 11, 2001, America experienced a day that would forever be etched into our hearts.
We remember the 2,977 lives lost.
We remember the firefighters, police officers, paramedics and other first responders who ran toward danger while others were trying to escape.
We remember the passengers and crew of Flight 93 whose courage saved countless others.
We remember the families who kissed someone goodbye that morning, never knowing it would be the last time.
And we remember what happened afterward.
People helped strangers.
Neighbors looked after neighbors.
Flags appeared everywhere.
Communities prayed together.
For a moment, differences seemed smaller and simply being there for one another mattered more.
Twenty-five years later, perhaps that is something worth remembering too.
May we honor those we lost not only with our words today, but by choosing kindness, courage, service and compassion tomorrow.
To the families who still carry an empty place at the table, we remember with you.
To the first responders, military members and countless others whose lives were forever changed by that day, we thank you.
And to those who never came home:
You are not forgotten.

💙🐾⚓ BLUE HAS SOME VERY BIG NEWS!

Apparently Captain went shopping…

And came home with something considerably bigger than a bag of treats. 😂

CAPTAIN BOUGHT A BOAT!

Right now, her name is Lucky Key, and Blue thinks that is a pretty wonderful name because she may just be the lucky key that opened the door to our next great adventure.

But Captain has already decided that when she begins her new chapter, she will have a new name:
⚓ M/V WILD BILL ⚓

Now, Blue has been informed that she needs a little work before anyone starts packing snacks for the Great Loop.

Engines need some attention.
The bottom needs some love.
There is cleaning to do.
And there will be plenty of projects along the way.

Blue has therefore appointed himself Chief Boat Inspector, Official Deck Sniffer, and Supervisor of Snacks. 🐾😂

One day, Wild Bill will carry something very special along the waterways — kindness, friendship, learning, inclusion, adventure, and hope.

But today?

Today we're simply celebrating because Blue's family bought a boat! 💙⚓

Welcome to the family, Lucky Key.
We can't wait to watch you become Wild Bill.

😂⚓ BLUE MAKES A TERRIBLE DISCOVERY

Late this afternoon, Admiral Blue boarded the Chaos Pearl to conduct what he called an:
“Official Naval Inspection.”

Everything appeared normal.
Ropes? ✔️
Anchor? ✔️
Pirate flag? ✔️
Treat barrel? ✔️

Then Blue opened Captain Sapphire’s treasure chest.
He froze.

Inside were:
One ballet ribbon.
Three tea spoons.
A squeaky duck.
Poppy’s missing cupcake wrapper.
Two socks nobody has claimed.

And…
BLUE’S FAVORITE TENNIS BALL. 😳🎾

Blue slowly turned toward Sapphire.

Sapphire slowly looked away.

And somewhere in Friendship Lighthouse Village, Annie could be heard laughing.

Apparently tomorrow may require negotiations between the Adventure Star and the Chaos Pearl. 😂🏴‍☠️

🏴‍☠️🩰 CAPTAIN SAPPHIRE TRIES BALLET

Nobody knows who gave Captain Sapphire a tutu.
We would simply like that person to come forward. 😂

Annie demonstrated first position.
Sapphire sat down.

Annie demonstrated a beautiful twirl.

Sapphire attacked the ribbon.

Annie explained that ballerinas move gracefully across the floor.

Sapphire climbed the curtains.

Blue watched the entire lesson from a safe distance.

Finally Annie sighed.

“Sapphire… I don't think that's ballet.”

Captain Sapphire flicked her tail.

Apparently aboard the Chaos Pearl, it is.

And that is how Friendship Lighthouse Village discovered a brand-new dance:
🏴‍☠️ THE PIRATE CAT POUNCE.

Different dancers. Different moves.

Still room in the circle for everyone. 💗

🧁🏴‍☠️ THE GREAT CUPCAKE HEIST

ALERT FROM POPPY’S TEA HOUSE! 🚨😂

Twelve cupcakes were cooling on the counter.
Poppy turned around for approximately seven seconds.
When she turned back…

ELEVEN CUPCAKES.

Captain Sapphire was sitting outside licking frosting from one paw.

“Do you know anything about the missing cupcake?” Poppy asked.

Sapphire looked deeply offended.
Then a sprinkle fell out of her whiskers.

Annie started laughing.
Blue began an official investigation.

And Autumn announced that the evidence was “overwhelming.”

Captain Sapphire maintains her innocence.
The cupcake has not been recovered. 🧁

The investigation continues.
