ANIMAL CRUELTY- FORT MOHAVE

On Wednesday (9/3), Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Officers responded to a veterinarian office in Fort Mohave. AC Officers were made aware of a dog in their care, a 2-year-old Pitbull-Terrier mix, had tested positive for methamphetamine toxicity.

Due to the internal injuries received from the drug toxicity, the dog had to be euthanized. Staff advised AC Officers that the dog had been brought in for treatment by a male and female owner, identified as Marcia Peterson (40) and Trevor Berry (35).

On Thursday (9/4), Deputies responded to a residence in the 2200 block of Flathead Dr. to attempt to make contact with the owners. Deputies noted the inside of the residence was in a squalid condition with animal f***s covering the floor of a room, indicating the dog had been locked inside for a lengthy amount of time. Deputies also located drug paraphernalia in plain sight.

Marcia Peterson was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Animal Cruelty, both felonies.

Trevor Berry is currently outstanding and an arrest warrant for Animal Cruelty has been issued for his arrest, along with other previous warrants. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Trevor Berry is encouraged to contact our office at 928-753-0753 and reference DR #25-033151.
