for 2+ years I’ve been meaning to post where we actually work.. the whole era has gone largely undocumented (the irony!!) anyway.. the workspace I never got around to sharing is no longer, and now all I have is a bunch of things I was gonna post “later” but later’s now, and now looks like a new studio. we moved!
The “we” is Pinitup.nj and me!! and Krissy Elizabeth brought me into their space on Main Street two years ago (roomies!) first real home my business ever had.
me and my 3 screens posted up in the front window and slowly became part of the decor. if the light was on I was probably in there. shoutout to everyone who drove past and texted “are you STILL working??” almost always YES, thank you for checking 🫶🏻
that same room moonlit as a beauty studio and photo “studio” .. for me, that meant that on shoot days I’d move everything out of the way and pretend it was always meant to be one!
the longer we do this the more the big dreams become deeply practical. closets. cabinets. storage. enough outlets. a place to put a light stand that isn’t also a workplace injury. the works.
nevertheless, we packed a whole lot of living into that little space! those walls know way too much about us. they heard every pep talk, every minor inconvenience turned full life crisis, and every “I’m just gonna answer one email” that became three new business ideas before lunch.
all three of us had outgrown the floorplan. Pinitup.nj most of all.. 15 years in biz with a full team of hair and makeup artists and a nicole hagan under their wing.. all sharing the same few feet. everyone just needed a little more room.
so they went looking for something to fit all these dreams and found it a block away. the business that was here built something so beautiful, and as their needs also shifted in a new direction they passed on a space that has everything we could want
now theres room to breathe all around! a big space for hair and makeup, a real space for photoshoots.. and enough of each that we finally get to do more things together which we’ve been so ready for. headshot days, content days, events, all the stuff we’d been saying “one day” about over the last two years.. now we just.. can!!
we’re all staying in belmar because where else would we go?! it’s home in every sense and where both of our businesses grew up. I still get my best work done barefoot in the sand at sunset obvi.. everything behind it just found a new place to live
