Monroe Canyon Fire Emergency Closure Order
PROHIBITIONS
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. 551 and 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited in the National Forest System (NFS) lands, roads, and trails within the Richfield Ranger District of the Fishlake National Forest, which is closed for safety due to a wildland fire:
It is prohibited to go into or be upon the area, trails and roads described below, which are closed for the protection of Public Health and Safety. 36 CFR 261.52(e), 36 CFR 261.55(a), 36 CFR 261.54(e), and 36 CFR 261.53(e).
EXEMPTIONS
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1.Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or AreasRestricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order or a writtendetermination by a Forest Service authorized officer that a permit is not required under 36 C.F.R. §251.50(e)(1) or (2).
2.Any Federal, State, or Local Officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in theperformance of an official duty.
3.Livestock permit holders with permits within the closure area.
AREA DESCRIBED
Area Closure: the area closed by this Order is depicted on the Map attached hereto as Exhibit A, which is incorporated herein by reference and is generally described as:
Beginning at the Forest Boundary and the intersection of Forest Road 068, South to the intersection of the Forest Boundary and Forest Trail 260, North of Forest Trail 260 going west to Forest Trail 252, North of Forest Trail 252 to Forest Trail 255, North of Forest Trail 255 to the intersection of Forest Trail 255 and Forest Road 068. Northwest of Forest Road 068 South to the intersection of 068 and Paiute Side Trail 044, west of Paiute Side trail South to the intersection with Paiute Side Trail 086, West of Paiute Side Trail 086 south to the intersection of Paiute Side Trail 086 and Paiute Side Trail 053, North of PST 053 west to the intersection of PST 053 and Forest Road 068, East of Forest Road 068 north to the intersection of Forest Road 068 and Township 27S Range 2.5w and the western edge of Section 13. West along the southern boundary of Township 27S Range 2.5w and Sections 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 west to the Forest Boundary. Following the Forest Boundary North to the North side of Forest Road 078 and the Forest Boundary in Monroe Canyon, Following the North side of Forest Road 078 to the intersection of Forest Road 078 and Forest Road 162 West of Forest Road 162 North to the intersection of Forest Road 162 and Forest Trail 084. Following Forest Trail 084 to the intersection of Forest Trail 084 and Township 25s Range 2W Section 28. From T.25S R2w S28 North to the southern boundary of Section 21, East to the Western boundary of Section 22 North to the Western Boundary of Section 15, North to the intersection with Forest Road 1211, West to the intersection of Forest Road 1148 West of Forest Road 1148 to Forest Trail 761, Following Forest trail 761 to Forest Trail 148, along the west side of Forest Trail 148 to the Forest Boundary to the North, following the Forest Boundary to the intersection of the Forest Boundary and Forest Road 068 south of Forest Road 068 back to the intersection of Forest Road 068 and the Forest Boundary.
All roads and trails within the boundary are closed.

IMPLEMENTATION
1.This Order shall be in effect from September 6, 2025, at 00:01 and will remain in effect until October 31, 2025, or until rescinded, whichever is sooner.
2.A map identifying the Described Area is attached and made part of this Order as Exhibit A.
3.Unless otherwise expressly defined in this Order, the terms used in this Order are defined by the regulations of the Secretary of Agriculture, 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 200-299. If there are terms in this Order that are not expressly defined in the Order or 36 C.F.R. Chapter II, Parts 200-299, their meaning shall be determined by their plain language definitions.
4.A violation of the above prohibitions is punishable as a Class B misdemeanor by a fine of not more than $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations, or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. 16 U.S.C. § 551; 18 U.S.C. §§ 3559, 3571, and 3581.

6.This Order supersedes any previous Orders prohibiting the same or similar acts in the same Described Area.
