Congrats to my students for a wonderful performance! Each student performed a solo and a duet piece. The second half of our program was all movie theme music, and the audience had the challenge of guessing the movie the music was from!

It’s time to register for fall lessons! Don’t live in NH? No problem! In addition to in studio, I offer remote lessons using the (far superior to zoom) Rockoutloudlive platform. I incorporate two camera angles, chord charts, white board and sheet music into lessons! I have openings on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

Every week, except in the summer, for 12 years this wonderful girl has come to my piano studio to study and create music! She is heading to college, and I am going to miss her so much! It has been a privilege and joy to teach her! I asked Sarah to share what her lesson experience with me has been like, and she wrote the following:
“ I was lucky enough to have Mrs. Hubbard as my piano teacher from the beginning—all the way from first grade until I graduated highschool—and I could not have asked for a better teacher. In my lessons with her, I have been able to try a variety of playing styles from classical to blues to improv, and I believe being exposed to so many different genres has expanded my abilities as a musician. In addition, because Mrs. Hubbard incorporated music theory into my lessons from the very beginning, I can anticipate college theory classes being fairly easy. :)
I think my favorite thing about having Mrs. Hubbard as my piano teacher was that she wanted me to cover a lot of styles and composers, rather than master two or three pieces in a year. My last three years or so of lessons, she let me decide a lot of what I wanted to play, and helped me play it to the best of my ability. She made suggestions about recital and exam pieces, but the final decision was always mine, and I really appreciated the freedom she gave me to explore. Thanks to lessons with Mrs. Hubbard, playing the piano is something I love and can’t imagine life without. “

Be a lifelong learner!! Now is the time to register for fall lessons! I'm now a Certified Royal Conservatory Teacher and if you would like to take your piano skills to a new level, consider preparing for a Royal Conservatory Exam! All the students I have prepared from preparatory through level 8 have scored first class honors. This past spring, I had a student achieve first class honors with distinction!!

Royal Conservatory notified me today that two of my students received the State Certificate of Excellence for their Royal Conservatory Exams this summer! The State Certificate of Excellence is awarded to students who achieve the highest mark in their state in each level and discipline. To be eligible the student must also have completed the theory co-requisites for their respective level and discipline. Congrats to Sarah and Olivia S!
