“Are you doing this work to facilitate growth or to become famous?
Which is more important - getting or letting go?”
Had to let go of social media this offseason & refocus on the mission.
The goal has always been to become the best coach I can be & get the most out of my players. Not to become the most popular coach I can be & get the most Instagram followers.
Somewhere along the way - I convinced myself that both goals align with each other, but they don’t.
Real greatness is never developed in the light for everybody to see. The greatness that my players and I are chasing is built in the dark away from the cameras and the noise.
That’s not to say you can’t be a great coach while also documenting your work on social media... many coaches do both very well.
But the best advice I ever received was - “Dont let this become a reality TV show. It’s about the work and only about the work.”
We are putting together some cool projects & will be back with our regular Sideline Hustle content soon, but until then it’s back to the darkness & back to the work.
