đŹ Important Update in Veterinary Medicine
The Latinx Veterinary Medical Association has released an open letter urging the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) to support an independent, third-party audit of ICVA â International Council for Veterinary Assessment and the NAVLE a step they believe is essential for transparency, fairness, and strengthening trust in the licensure process.
For years, students and recent graduates have raised concerns about potential bias within the exam. Whether these concerns reflect real structural issues or simply a lack of clarity, LatinxVMA is calling for a data-driven review that brings answers, not assumptions.
This isnât about pointing fingers. Itâs about ensuring every future veterinarian can trust that the pathway to licensure is fair, rigorous, and aligned with modern standards.
đ Read the full letter on Vet Candy â Veterinary Lifestyle & News and join the conversation about how we can make veterinary licensure stronger, more equitable, and more transparent.
