🌿 New Personal Essay: Knowing Too Soon

I was six — maybe seven — when the world told me I was “special.”
Not in the celebrated way, but in the coded, clinical way.

Words like gifted. Emotional. Unstable.
And from there, I began a journey of masking, misdiagnosis, and learning to survive instead of simply be.

In this essay, I share what it was like to be a neurodivergent Black girl who “knew too soon” — and how I’m learning to bloom anyway.
