Hey Friends! Meet Cooper. The truth is that this isn’t how I planned to introduce you. Mid pandemic, post maternity leave. He arrived 3 weeks early on November 5. We didn’t get the chance for any newborn photos since he surprised us so I stayed kind of quiet without a “perfect” photo to post amidst everyones beautiful images. Last year was a hard year for me and I look back at pregnancy like I literally lost a year of my life. I was very sick the whole time but I am happy to be on the other side with this squishy guy and our new little family. Now after being a mom for almost 5 months I understand that this is the perfect photo to post. It’s real and uncurated. Travis snapped it this morning, my hair hasn’t been washed in days, I’m covered in spit up and were still in pajamas.
I planned to be “back from maternity leave” at the beginning of March. I’m going to try and start showing up back here as much as I can but lets be honest, this is a weird time. Many of my spring brides have been rescheduled to late summer and fall and I’m now left with more time than I anticipated to spend with my family. (Which I am not mad about.) Covid has changed not only our industry but every industry in the world. I am trying to spend each day focusing on the things I CAN control instead of the things I cannot. So for now I am spending my extra time squeezing this guy extra tight.
So if you made it this far I just wanted to say that I hope you all are staying sane and safe in this unprecedented time. Hopefully I’ll be better at posting now that I’ve ripped off the bandaid.
