BTS Step and Praise Videoshoot. I hate being on camera. It wrecks my nerve - real bad when I see a camera coming (I am getting better). But I had so much fun at the video shoot. Celebrating one of Montgomery’s own. 💙

Last night I attended An Evening of Honor recognizing Coach Reggie Barlow, head coach at Tennessee State, for his leadership, service, and impact both on and off the field.

The evening was full of inspiration, community, and hometown pride. I always enjoy experiencing events that bring people together to celebrate those making a difference.

Congratulations, Coach Barlow! 👏🏾

Stopped into the Paradigm Lounge for quick drink last night and ended up and closing the place down. It is always a vibe there and I am excited that they are moving to a bigger location soon. ❤️❤️

Tonight I joined the VERY Beautiful Book Club curated by Tonya Terry for a special anniversary celebration of Trisha R. Thomas’ Trisha R Thomas beloved novel. Hearing the author share her journey in person made the evening even more memorable.

Twenty-five years later, this story is still inspiring conversations about identity, confidence, beauty, and becoming comfortable in your own skin.

Happy 25th anniversary to a book that’s still making an impact. 🤎

Some museums hold artifacts.
Others hold deep truth.

Today for International Museum Day, I’m highlighting the Mothers of Gynecology Museum and Mothers of Gynecology Monument here in Montgomery.

This space honors the enslaved Black women whose bodies were used to build the foundation of modern gynecology. Women whose names and stories were too often erased from history.

I first visited last year, and seeing how much the museum has grown since then moved me deeply. It is powerful, haunting, educational, and necessary.

If you are ever in Montgomery, make time for this experience.

Leave with the names.
