Anxiety Momster Mom of 5 | Anxiety girlie | Life is chaotic & I’m narrating it out loud. I share real life — anxiety, family, money, healing, humor, wins, losses… all of it.

If it’s my life, it’s getting posted. 💜✨

📚💜 **THE ANXIETY MOMSTER BOOKSHELF IS OPEN…**

Okay y’all… I’ve been working on something a little different for Anxiety Momster, and I’m SO excited to finally share it. 🥹💜

I created a little corner of the website where you can sit down, pick a story, and actually get lost in someone else’s experience with anxiety.

Because sometimes you don’t need another “10 Ways to Calm Your Anxiety” post.

Sometimes you need a REAL STORY.

The kind where someone admits:

“I was scared.”

“I didn’t know what was happening.”

“I thought I was losing my mind.”

“I didn’t know how I was going to get through that moment.”

And then… somehow… they did. ❤️‍🩹

📖 **The Anxiety Momster Bookshelf currently has TWO stories waiting for you.**

Two different books.
Two different experiences.
Two different journeys through anxiety.

And you can click the book titles directly from the bookshelf and read the full stories.

No clinical jargon.
No pretending anxiety is pretty.
No toxic positivity.

Just honest stories about what it can actually feel like to live through anxiety.

Because anxiety has a LOT of chapters.

And sometimes reading someone else's chapter helps you understand your own. 💜

👉🏽 **Go check out the Anxiety Momster Bookshelf:**
🌐 anxietymomster.org

Pick a book. Get comfortable. And come tell me which story hit you the hardest. 👀📚

Sometimes anxiety doesn’t look like a panic attack.

Sometimes it looks like sitting in your car before school, trying to convince yourself to walk inside.

Sometimes it looks like a mom holding it together for everybody else… then sitting alone in the car because she’s got nothing left.

Sometimes it looks like being older, having lived through so much, and still wondering why your mind won’t let you fully relax.

That’s why I created The People Behind the Panic. 💜

It’s a collection of stories about people living through anxiety in very different seasons of life.

Not textbook explanations.
Not perfect little endings.
Just real moments, real thoughts, and the things people don’t always say out loud.

And honestly?

You might read one and think…

“Wait… why does this sound like me?” 👀

This man scared the ABSOLUTE S**T out of us. 😳

He came ALL THE WAY UP TO OUR HOUSE saying he heard my kids screaming and wanted to make sure they were okay.

Except… my kids said they NEVER screamed. All of them. 😐

Then he got in my husband’s face and tried to walk up on me and my mom.

Meanwhile, my anxiety was going CRAZY. 😭 My whole body was telling me to PANIC, but I was trying my hardest to stay calm, listen to what he was saying, and understand the situation because honestly… I just wanted him to leave.

I wasn’t trying to argue with him. I wasn’t trying to escalate anything. I was literally trying to keep myself together while this strange situation was happening at MY HOUSE.

He said he was concerned about my kids, but when your kids are telling you they weren’t screaming AND a stranger is getting in your family’s personal space and trying to approach you?

Yeah… my mama alarm was going OFF. 🚨

And THAT is what you see in this video.

Sometimes anxiety doesn’t look like running away or screaming. Sometimes it looks like standing there trying to keep your s**t together while your nervous system is screaming, “WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?!” 😭

☕ Does coffee make your heart race like you just ran a marathon?

📱 Does scrolling at night turn into a 2-hour doom spiral?

🌧️ Does a random rainy day suddenly make everything feel heavier?

If you’re nodding along, you’re not imagining it — these are real anxiety triggers, and you’re definitely not the only one.

Anxiety Momster here (Shanice 💜). Some of the everyday things that quietly (or not so quietly) amp up my anxiety:

Caffeine (yes, even “just one cup” can send me spiraling)

Lack of sleep or broken sleep

Overstimulating environments (loud places, bright lights, crowds. Wal-mart and Sams Club for me.)

Social media doomscrolling

Weather changes or seasonal shifts

Hormonal fluctuations (hello, cycle-related anxiety)

Unexpected changes in routine
The sneaky part? Once you start noticing your personal triggers, you gain so much power back. I share all of mine — the ones that still get me, the ones I’ve learned to manage, and the little tricks that actually help — in my blog.

😱 That racing heart at 2 AM... the "what if" spiral that won't quit... If anxiety feels like a full-time monster under your bed, you're NOT broken — you're human. And there are names for these beasts.

Hey Anxiety Momster fam, let's shine some light on the most common types of anxiety so you can recognize them, tame them, and stop feeling so alone:

1. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Constant, excessive worry about everyday things (kids, work, health, the future...) even when there's no real threat. The "what if" factory that never closes.

2. Panic Disorder
Sudden, intense waves of fear that hit like a freight train — heart pounding, shortness of breath, feeling like you're dying or losing control. Hello, panic attacks.

3. Social Anxiety Disorder
Extreme fear of being judged, embarrassed, or rejected in social situations. It can make even simple things like school drop-off or texting back feel terrifying.

4. Specific Phobias
Intense, irrational fear of certain objects or situations (heights, flying, needles, dogs, etc.) that leads to immediate avoidance.

5. Separation Anxiety
Not just for kids! Intense distress when separated from loved ones, with constant worry that something bad will happen to them.
Understanding the monster makes it a little less scary. Knowledge is power!!

Yo this clip from Ambulance on Netflix is straight comedy 😂
Will just socks the cop right in the ambulance while the EMT's trying to fix his spleen or whatever. Dude's like "I'm not listening... GO TO SLEEP!"
Jake's face looking back like "wtf" had me dying. Absolute madness in that van lol

Good morning, friends. 💜

Before I start this day, I just want to say... thank You, God. I woke up today, I have breath in my lungs, a roof over my head, people I love, and so many reasons to be grateful.

But if I'm being real... I also woke up with anxiety.

That heavy feeling in my chest. The racing thoughts. The "what ifs" trying to steal the peace before my feet even hit the floor.

So today I'm praying not for a perfect day, but for a peaceful one.

Dear God,
Please quiet the anxiety that tries to convince me I'm not okay. Help me remember that feelings are not facts and that You are bigger than every fearful thought. Give me strength for today, peace for this moment, and the courage to keep moving forward one step at a time. Remind me that I don't have to carry today's burdens alone because You've already gone before me.

Anxiety may have woken up with me this morning... but so did God's mercy.

Today, I'm choosing gratitude over fear, faith over panic, and hope over worry.

If you need this prayer too, you're not alone. 💜🙏
