On or about June 24, 2025, at approximately 5:20 PM while monitoring traffic on Highway 167 I observed a red passenger car traveling north bound at a high rate of speed. I confirmed the vehicle was speeding with my radar which indicated 87 MPH in a 60 MPH zone. I turned out behind the vehicle and activated my emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop.

The vehicle continued traveling north bound for approximately a mile before stopping. As I approached the driver, I noticed he had just lit a cigarette as if he was trying to mask the odor of something in the vehicle. While speaking with the driver now identified as Jeremy Kluesner I detected signs of possible intoxication such as red glassy eyes, lack of concentration and the inability to carry out simple task. While speaking with Kluesner I observed alcoholic beverages laying loose in the rear floor board area. At that time I could not tell if they were opened or not so I asked Kluesner to step out of the vehicle.

This request made Kluesner extremely frustrated and he attempted to roll up the window. I placed my hand on top of the window causing it to roll down and again instructed him to exit the vehicle. Kluesner again ignored my request and rolled the window up.

I return to my unit and retrieved my ASP baton and ordered Kluesner out of the vehicle another three times. Kluesner again refused to exit and I struck the window with the baton causing it to shatter. Klluesner was then removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest. During an inventory of the vehicle THC gummies and edibles were located in the glove box and a green leafy substance consistent with ma*****na in the trunk.

Numerous unopened alcoholic beverages were located throughout the vehicle. Moro Creek wrecker towed the vehicle and Kluesner was transported to the Dallas County Jail. Once at the jail Kluesner refused to perform field sobriety and refused to take a chemical test to determine BAC.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Kali Grier on her recent promotion within the Crossett Police Department!

Officer Grier joined CPD in 2023 and has quickly proven herself as a dedicated and driven member of our team. At just 25 years old, she brings a strong work ethic, a servant’s heart, and a deep commitment to making Crossett a better place to live for everyone.

Originally from a military family, Kali moved to Crossett in 2018 but has deep roots in our community. She comes from a legacy of service—her mother, a female firefighter, and her Nana, a paramedic instructor—both women who inspired Kali to lead with strength and compassion in a male-dominated field.

As the oldest of six siblings, including a brother currently serving in the Air Force, Kali understands responsibility and what it means to care deeply for others. Her mission is simple but powerful: to be a source of safety and hope for those who need it most—especially the vulnerable, the voiceless, and the overlooked.

Congratulations, Detective Kali Grier. Your CPD family is proud to walk alongside you in service to this great community.
