OUR FIRST DUAL-COVER BOY ... and a most deserving one, if we do say so ourselves. Glad to shine a light on Joe Bohler and his lovely wife Alaina, Tri-Lakes residents for nearly a half-century, in the May issues of both Monument Living and Palmer Divide Living. Also in these pages you'll find Business Profile articles featuring our friends Amanda (Vinton) Weisseg of The Vinton Law Firm in Monument and Morgan Bryson's popular "Tossed" food trailer (which you'll see at most of this summer's Wednesday night concerts at Limbach Park). More great stuff in June; stay tuned!

A COUPLE OF COVERS you can sink your teeth into, though you might get framed in the process ... great stuff in the April issues of both Monument Living and Palmer Divide Living magazines, including our friends Dr. Jeffrey and Erin Yelle of Mountain Wellness Dentistry (mountainwellnessdentistry.com) and Maggie Williamson and Ethan Ahlstrom of Bella Art and Frame (bellaartandframe.com) in downtown Monument. Also within these pages: Business Profile article featuring the inimitable Monique Walkes of Coldwell Banker Realty (moniquewalkes.cbintouch.com), a tribute to "Yeller, the Traveling Cat" in Marshmallow's Pet Corner and an Expert Contributor column ("Is it time to replace your deck?") by Matthew and Michael Krueger of Krueger Brothers Construction (kruegerbrothers.com). Coming in May: longtime Monumenter―and world-class painter of people and scenery―Joseph Bohler of Woodmoor.

MARCH MAGAZINE MADNESS ... congrats to this month's Cover Couples (and their pooches), our new friends Dr. Karl & Margaret Larsen and my old friends Tom & Marty Roddam. Met the Roddams in 2010 or so through the PepNet networking group (thanks, Sarah Schaefer!), and have just recently become acquainted with the Larsens. Terrific photos, as we've come to expect, by paparazza magnifica Krista Bobo of Palmer Lake. Also featured―in both mags, no less―is Roddam's dog Barklee, the "Golden Deceiver" highlighted in Marshmallow's Pet Corner. Barklee is the friendly face of Affordable Flooring Connection, located in the Woodmoor Center on Lake Woodmoor Drive. Keeping the canine caper going is our Business Profile of Wag N Wash-Monument, owned by Julie and John Carros. Woof!

P.S. Continued prayers of thanksgiving―and relief!―go out on behalf of our friends/magazine sponsors Troy and Chantel Price (bottom right) of Palmer Lake Pub, who survived a horrific attack in their home late last month. Wishing you both a speedy recovery (in every sense); see you soon!

BIG-TIME CONGRATS to our February cover couples, Monument residents Paulo & Lulú Villaseñor and John & Julie Aronson. Paulo and Lulú own the 3 Margaritas restaurant on Lake Woodmoor Drive (3margaritasmonument.com) and the Aronsons operate Gotcha Covered Custom Window Treatments (gotchacovered.com/monument). In addition to these features―with photos by Mike Searle―included in the February fun are Expert Contributor columns from our friends Rich and Shannon Schur (schursuccessgroup.com) and Michele Edling and Jill Haneline of the ELM Home Group (micheleedling.exprealty.com or jillhaneline.exprealty.com). We've also got a Business Profile introducing you to Amanda Farrell's Sacred Space Therapeutics (sacredspacetherapeutics.com), home of the Colorado Springs area's only "harmonic egg" resonance chamber ... check it out for yourself! Cupid makes a cameo too, with Local Love Stories compiled by Marissa Searle with assistance from Punxsutawney Phil himself. Some great stuff coming up in March as well―stay tuned!

Please note: There is an incorrect listing in February’s issues for the February 20th book signing at Covered Treasures.
The do, however have a book signing on February 12 from 1-3 with author Heidi Wigand-Nicely.

My apologies! ~ Marissa

JANUARY COVER STARS of Monument Living and Palmer Divide Living, including a little family tribute ... great stuff featuring Daryn and Melanie Strop of Wayne Anthony Homes in Monument and Stan and Susan Searle of Searle Ranch/Silverado Ranch (check out Stan's pen and ink self-portrait circa 1958 or so). Also in January's issues you'll find Business Profile articles looking at Chuck Maher's Visions Inc. (a faith-based financial consulting outfit) and Pies and Grinders-Monument (owned by our friend Dan Dreyfuss), along with the first Expert Contributor column from Dr. Jeffrey Yelle of Mountain Wellness Dentistry. Cover photos by world-class paparazza Krista Bobo of Palmer Lake. Thanks, everybody!

Hey friends, Marshmallow here … hacking Marissa’s account to drop in and say hi. Meet my bud Elsa, she is an alpaca and loves me to bits (can’t you tell by her face?!)

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say
Merry Christmas 🎄 and Happy New Year! 🎆

Be sure to read about my Aunt Maxie in your January issues of Monument Living and Palmer Divide Living Magazines coming to your mailbox really soon! (Yes, we have 2 magazines now - didn’t you know that?!)

Monument Living Magazine

THIS MONTH'S feature faces belong to our friend Amy Yocom-Vos and family, who's cutting quite a swath these days in Tri-Lakes professional and social circles (that's Amy's posse at Boot Barn Hall at the bottom, and you can find her at foxmortgage.net). Also in our November issue is a Business Profile introducing readers to the crew at the Vinton Law Firm in downtown Monument (thevintonlawfirm.com) and a visit with "Murphy", Jim and Michele Edling's amazingly fluffy Newfypoo (yes, that's a thing ... Newfoundland-Poodle cross). We'd also like to welcome to the fold a handful of new Monument Living sponsors including Daryn and Melanie Strop of Wayne Anthony Custom Homes (wacustomhomes.com), Chuck Maher of Visions Inc. financial counseling (chuckmaher.com), Dr. Jeffrey Yelle of Mountain Wellness Dentistry (mountainwellnessdentistry.com) and Matthew Carlson of Farmers Insurance ([email protected]). Got some mega-fun stuff coming up in December, plus the debut of our sister publication, Palmer Divide Living. Huzzah!

Our Family of the Month for October is a veritable (and literal) human pyramid of energy and activity around here ... great to get to know Robin and Jenny Wright a bit in the course of producing this month's Resident Feature, with photos by the ever-excellent Krista Bobo of Palmer Lake. Also in this issue is a look at "Oscar", owned by Cindy Fitzpatrick of Monument (he's featured in Marshmallow's Pet Corner for October) and a tip of the cap to Max Hatfield, donor of $1,000 from last season's Christmas tree sales to the Tri-Lakes Fire Department. Lastly, a spooktacular look at hauntings around the hood including the coffin store in downtown Motown (photo provided by Jodie Bliss). Great stuff coming up in November too; don't touch that dial!

DOESN'T FEEL MUCH LIKE FALL yet around here, but it is September and with it another fun-packed issue of Monument Living. Congrats to this month's Cover Couple, our friends Paul and Lisa Sutton (whose smiling faces you've probably seen on their Peak Structural foundation-repair trucks around the area). Also in the September edition is a "Exploring Sandstone Ranch Open Space" by Stewart M. Green along with advice on college savings plans from Expert Contributor Andy Schell. The first installment of Marshmallow's Pet Corner (by our very own "goatwriter'... no kid-ing!) introduces you to Buddy Jr. "B.J.", Wag N' Wash owners Julie and John Carros' prize pooch. Thanks as always to our sponsors for making Monument Living possible ... fun (and spooky) stuff coming up in October!
