MERRY "TORCH"-MAS🔥🎄- Continuing to look at the latest ensemble models for the period leading up to Christmas is trending WARMER in most of the Central and Southern US. The NWS has updated their 8-14 Day Temperature Outlook to "Likely Above Normal" temperatures from Dec. 19th-25th.

Christmas is still two weeks out, but there is skill in pattern recognition in using ensemble guidance. When we experience warm weather in December, we typically see a strong storm system and an increased risk of severe weather on the back end of the heat wave. So we will have to watch December 26th-29th very closely.

HISTORIC FLOODING THREAT🌊 with the ATMOSPHERIC RIVER (PINEAPPLE EXPRESS) EVENT bringing rivers (especially the Snoqualmie River) to n historic crests across Western Washington has prompted a STATE OF EMERGENCY🚨 across all counties west of the Cascades.

Officials are urging residents to get to higher ground, and stay away from rivers if at all possible.

GRAB THE HEAVY COAT‼️ - ARCTIC AIR IS STILL ON TRACK🚨 to surge into the Upper Midwest this weekend and then head for the Gulf Coast by Monday Morning. Some of the COLDEST AIR YET THIS WINTER SEASON🥶 where wind chills are forecasted to be well below zero, and pushing wellinto the dangerous category by Sunday Morning.

This Arctic front will likely push all the way to the Gulf Coast by Monday Morning, where we could see wind chills in the single digits in the Deep South. The Good News is that this blast of Arctic Air will be relatively SHORT-LIVED as a December Torch seems to be on the way!!

DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS❄️??- I'VE GOT BAD NEWS😡

Looking ahead into the Long Range of guidance, the NWS just posted their LATEST 8-14 Day Temperature Outlook, and it's something you do not want to see if you are a Winter Weather lover around Christmastime. Although if you LOVE WARM WEATHER (Temps in the 60s-80s), I do have some good news for you.. The Majority of the US will be under a dominant ridge with a NEW PATTERN FLIP beginning late next week.

Stay tuned as I will continue following the evolution of this pattern flip! And see how long this may last.
