My husband, who was my wife before this talk, recently discussed with me his desire to be referred to as the opposite gender. Now all his pronouns are masculine, and he doesn't plan to do any gender affirming surgery.

I fully respect this decision, and if that's how he identifies, then that's even more of a reason to respect it. However, he feels like I don't respect his gender because I won't say I'm gay.

I work a shift where I do not get home until about 3 AM on my work days. My roommate has a regular 9-5 job. He regularly has his girlfriend over to the apartment. Our shifts are so different that I don't really interact with them at all.
