🌿⛪ Monastery of the Transfiguration, Malaybalay, Bukidnon | Expat in the Philippines 🇵🇭

From the first time I set foot at the Monastery of the Transfiguration in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, I was captivated by its pyramid-shaped architecture and the peace that surrounds it. This Benedictine monastery is more than just a stunning landmark — it’s a serene retreat where time slows down and the cool mountain air refreshes your soul.

Nestled among Bukidnon’s rolling green hills, the monastery offers immaculate grounds, lush gardens, and quiet spaces perfect for prayer, meditation, or simply enjoying the stillness. Whether you’re religious or not, it’s a place that welcomes everyone seeking tranquility and reflection.

If you’re traveling through Bukidnon or exploring Mindanao, make sure to visit this peaceful gem. It’s an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left.

Join me live here at the farm in the Philippines as I take on today’s hot and itchy job — cleaning and cutting bamboo! 🌿 I’ll be using the bamboo to make new shelves and resurface the bar. Now, full disclosure: I’m not a professional carpenter (not even close, haha), but I’ve been learning as I go, and so far, nothing has fallen apart yet! 😅

🌿 Snow in the Mountain 🤍

One of our newest plant additions at the farm — Snow in the Mountain! These beautiful plants bring such a refreshing contrast to the endless green that surrounds the ground. Their soft white and green tones almost look like nature sprinkled a touch of snow across the landscape, giving the farm a fresh and calming vibe. 🌱✨

It’s amazing how little details like this can completely change the feel of a place. Sometimes it’s not just the big trees or crops that stand out, but the small plants that quietly add balance and beauty. Loving how these are already brightening up the farm! 🌿💚

Day at the River | Expat in the Philippines

There’s nothing like a peaceful day by the river in the Philippines! With a few snacks packed, we head out to the countryside to find that perfect spot where the air is fresh, the trees sway in the breeze, and the sound of the water washes all your worries away.

The ice-cold river is a refreshing treat on a hot day — perfect for dipping your feet, cooling off, or simply relaxing on the bank. The kids have the time of their lives, splashing around, racing leaves downstream, and turning the river into their own adventure playground.

It’s these simple moments — surrounded by nature, far from the noise of the city — that make life here so special. 🌿💧 Come join us and see why the Philippines is a place I’ll never stop loving.

Morning Magic at the Farm 🌅🌿

Nothing beats waking up at the farm and feeling the world slowly come alive. As the sun rises, its golden light spills over the trees, dances across the stream, and kisses the flowers awake. The air is fresh, the sounds are gentle, and every moment feels like nature’s way of saying “good morning.” Pure peace, pure joy. 🌸🌞

Weekend Playtime at the Farm 🌿💦

Nothing beats the sound of laughter echoing through the farm. The kids spent hours splashing in the ice-cold water, their giggles mixing with the rustle of the trees and the songs of the birds. Surrounded by nature, these are the moments that make life feel full. 🌞

This Could Be the Worst Soda Ever Made! 🍓🥤

Royal is a beloved orange soda in the Philippines — sweet, fizzy, and just plain delicious. So when I spotted a strawberry Royal at SM Mall, I was instantly excited. Got it home, chilled it, poured a glass… took a big sip — and immediately thought I had swallowed carbonated cherry cough syrup. 😅

No strawberry flavor at all, just straight-up medicine taste. Even the kids refused to drink it! But hey, taste is subjective — you might actually love it. So if you see one, give it a try… but don’t say I didn’t warn you first! 😉
